No offense, but Devil May Cry gave way more than rising. Its DLC will give even more. Rising isn't worth sixty dollars when you add up all the things you get in both games.

I don't know about that the depth of play in MGR's combat is very well worth it imo and superior to DMC, I've played both.

Thats fine, I'll take the game that gives me gameplay and double the hours.

Optimal solution? TAKE BOTH! =D

Six hour game= rent. You  get 18- 20 hours out of DMC without playing twice (w/ dlc included).

Its not worth sixty dollars to me.

I keep hearing people saying it's 60 dollars. Is that true? Because I preorder the game here in Spain (Normally that brings a small discount) and it cost me 40 euros. (45 dollars). Now it's 45 euros (50 dollars), and buying it brand new awards you with a custom skin and a weapon in-game.

Congratulations to Platinum Games, Kojima productions and Konami :)

This game is really fun, all enemies are fun to fight against, the bosses are very well done, the soundtrack is awesome... specially during epic boss fights :D the gameplay is awesome too!

I really like this game, it sometimes made me feel that "adrenaline rush" I felt with DMC3 when I played it for the first time... it'd been a while since a game made me feel this way again. Can't wait to unlock Revengeance difficulty :D. After clearing that mode and getting the platinum I'll see if I challenge myself to finish Revengeance mode without upgrades... if that's possible to do.

The platinum for this game will be a bit complicated to get... but I'll get it eventually.

Well...you know...go to the "Press start" screen and Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A (Or X O ) and Blah! There you have Revengeance.

Yeah, the Konami code... I heard about it but I'd rather unlock everything the "right" way... it kinda makes me proud doing it that way and earning stuff by myself. If I do that I'll feel like I'm cheating and didn't really earn anything.

Besides, it is pretty suicidal to just "unlock" Revengeance and pretend to beat it without any upgrades earned from previos playthroughs xDDDDDD

Yes, it is sixty dollars. Now weigh the rewards of pre-ordering one game vs the other. DMC gives you 4-5 hour DLC for preordering with Vergil vs a Grey Fox skin. Its not even at all.

He's probably talking about longevity, replay value and extras. Except for the extras (Don't know if DmC has extras), Rising falls short on longevity and replay value, except beating the game on Revengeance achieveing S in every stage, which is a pretty damn challenge.

Fair enough but replay value hinges a lot on gameplay in the action genre, I beat DMC a while back and haven't gone back to it while I find beating the bosses and tackling the set pieces in MGR good enough to go back to it. MGR is PG taking a project that was in turmoil and had no direction and making something of it which explains why it's short in content and campaign, I imagine if PG had the project from it's inception the'd be a lot more.

Oh, but I did preorder because I like the beautiful Steelbook of Rising, and because I don't like Devil May Cry, in general (not because it's a reboot or something). . Here DmC is sitting at an insane price of 65 euros! (70 dollars)

Well, I don't know... I've done this kind of thing before, like a no upgrade run on God of War III on Chaos mode (I think that's what the hardest difficulty was called) or a 122333 challenge in Final Fantasy XII. Those kind of things are fun to do but I had more free time before to do all that... nowadays it's ALMOST only weekends, vacations from work, holidays and that stuff when I have time or feel like doing this kind of self imposed challenges.

I could be playing now but I'm kind of sleepy and don't really feel like it :S.
