Diddy Kong is the clear winner here. I bet many wouldn't even know of Marth or Ness if it wasn't for Smash Bros. I sure wouldn't. I can't remember any recent F-Zero games, or any period actually, and Pit has like 2 games with a 10+ year difference. Also, though I don't know as fact, I think it's safe to say that Donky Kong games have sold more than games of the other characters franchises.

Pit has been in 3 games, all Kid Icarus of course, and then there's non-pit games like Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

What? Who told you this nonsense? You are most certainly welcome here mate. The more fellow video game enthusiast the better afterall. One or two people (who didn't even seem like they were trying to be hostile), do not represent the whole community. There's always gonna be a few bad eggs in large groupings like this (not saying anyone here is one), so you gotta learn expect that and deal with it unfortunately. Rodea the Sky Soldier might gotten final approval on Wii version by now, and 3DS version should be finish to be release this year too, Nintendo probably holding back any further info of this game for E3:
