Wow weird vita numbers, but perhaps the sony conference is responsible for that, what with the remote play news.
Next week sales should be higher, and WOW at pezus' prediction coming true. Spot on.
Also great MG:R numbers 350k is way more than I expected. Should be able to do a mil in JP lifetime.

Not likely. Ps3 games don't have legs in Japan. Best case scenario 700k

This is so sad and a complete lie. Games have legs based on their inherent appeal (which is usually linked to a franchise or genre) and even then there are exceptions. Demon's Souls is one example of some sexy legs.

Did it sell over a mil in Japan alone? Did it have a great opening and kept selling for a long time? Can you think of any other examples? How about mgs4? That's right. Bigger opening and didn't manage to sell over a mil (or am I wrong? that's what I read in another tread).

Please explain how this is a lie.

Metal Gear titles won't have legs because it's a MG title. It has a hardcore fanbase that will buy it early. It would have the same legs even if it was on the DS or Wii. Demon's Souls opened with a 38k FW and went on to sell 350k lifetime in Japan. For a niche JPPG that is also a new IP, that's pretty fantastic. All I said that the console doesn't determine the legs, the game itself does.

In order to establish that this is a lie, you need to provide more examples than one game. It seems to me that that was an exception. ffxiii didn't have legs, neither tales of xilia or ever gran tourismo. All big hitters are front loaded in Japan and sell horribly afterwards because mainly of the second hand market.

The only game on a ps console with good legs was monster hunter freedom unite as far as i can remember. Wii and ds games on the other hand have multiple evergreen titles.

And Wii U launch with a Mario game and Monster Hunter unlike PSVita.

Monster hunter tri had already been sold to death in Japan. Wii owners had bought it, 3ds owners had bought it. The only thing the wii u version had in advantage was online, but in Japan that really doesn't matter.

Guys, it's obvious that the Vita price has been already slashed by some resellers!
Is checking amazon japan so difficult?

No, but it's not as fun!

It was also released on the PSP and PS3 under the name MH Portable 3rd so the game has been released 4 times before and the Wii U version is the fifth time MH3 is getting released. >_<

Monster Hunter still bigger then any psvita launch title.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Uncharted is a pretty big title as far as I know. A game done to death in just a few years is not that strong, especially no in a country that favours handhelds, and can get the wery same game on handhelds.

The best selling Uncharted game has sold 210k in Japan; the best selling Monster Hunter game has sold 4.83m in Japan.

I get what you're saying about the Monster Hunter remakes, and I agree, but Uncharted is big in the west, not the east.

Haha, sorry, I didn't think for a minute :p

Hot shots were also out around launch (or at launch), and I believe that one is in a series that have done rather well in japan. Not monster hunter well, but once again, the monster hunter game was done to death, and hot shots was on a handheld.
