Forums - Nintendo - Wii mini coming to Europe! Wii getting a new wind?

I think that if it`s priced below 100€, it could do very well for low income families. That migh just be it`s target.

Let`s hope that Wii U marketing and advertising is revamped so the two consoles aren`t wrongly perceived.

If I can get a converter so I can connect it to HDMI and play it on my monitor, I might fork out for it, since I've never owned a Wii before... but it also depends on the price.

... It also looks fugly, so I'll have to hide it somewhere, lol.

It doesn't play Gamecube games, right?

No GC games and no internet I believe.

I see... no internet? Do many games even use the internet on the Wii? I wasn't aware of it, lol.

I can still play Super Smash Bros. Brawl locally with my brother using the Classic Controlllers though, right? :o

There are games that use online, like Mario Kart or Smash. Other than that, yes, you will still be able to play local multiplayer with the classic controllers. No GC controllers though.

To be honest, just spend the extra few bucks and get a real Wii.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Lol im happy and furious at once

Excellent. Wii will soon reach 1 million units sold!!

MY ZELDA COLLECTION

I think they will stop making the Wii SKU and simply have the Wii U and the Mini. Nintendo.com doesn't even have the Wii when you click the Wii link. It goes straight to the Wii Mini. Wii sales are so low now that carrying 3 SKUs seems like more work than it's worth and at this point I don't think a lot of people buying Wiis are looking for online, GC compatibility or 480p.

This will appeal to families with young kids that don't want to spend much and don't care about how old a game is. If I were them I'd include an upgrade offer that lets someone buy this and if they register it online and later register a WiiU in the following 24 months they get a $25 rebate or a free game or something. If they can get a few hundred thousand to a million new customers to upgrade as their kids get older rather than buying a PS4/Nextbox then it would be well worth the small implementation price.

If I'm correct there will in my opinion be less cross brand confusion. You have the cheapo console for under $100 and the Wii U obviously much more expensive. I don't think they would target competing customer segments at all.

I am completely ambivalent about this.

WHERE IS MY KORORINPA 3

It's coming all over Europe it seems. Guess it was fairly succesful in Canada or the original Wii's are being discontinued similarly to the PS which was continued through the PSOne line. Doesn't even look that bad actually. I mean, it's not the roof of the Sistine Chapel but it has a nice, classic look to it.

If (or when) it is €70, I might get one for the collector's value or because it contains a nice red Wiimote Plus and Nunchuck which I could use anyway.

Of course I will get this. DAY ONE! COLLECTION ITEM!

Switch!!!

It doesn't do Progressive, it doesn't do internet(a console that can't go online anno 2013, really NIntendo?). Enough said.

£45 and il buy, not worth any more
