Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo and its lack of any reasonable sense when it comes to modern technology.

Well, Nintendo is trying to go in the right direction but Physical copies are still outselling digital ones. I don't think Nintendo is trying to impress us technology wise. I think they're still up to their successful tactics: impress us game wise. I don't know how many times I have to say this but anybody can make an Xbox360 and a PS3. Not everybody can make a Wii. That takes creativity and imagination. Please don't give me any hate mail:D

Excellent post.

Don´t know what you are talking about. The "so" famous update took me less than 15 minutes.

You may want to delete your Connection Settings, and key it back in again. I myself switch back and forth between my home modem, and phone.

I doubt that's the case but you wouldn't happen to be running a 802.11n Wireless-N on Comcast ?

I had that issue a while back and there is a problem there that is however very easy to fix...

do tell....

I am not using comcast's router, i bought my own and its literally only downloading content from nintendo that has any issues.

There is a bug on comcast network that mainly affects downloads ( upload is fine).

Check what router you have and then check this if you have the affected router :

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

Holy interesting as that would effect only downloading content and not the other internet traffic. See people this is real help here... not just blanket statements like "its your wifi".

I'll check this when I get home. thx!

One thing to note though is I've seen no negative download issues on my wifi connected PC. But I'll try this either way as its an easy test.

btw, my router is this one.... http://www.bestbuy.com/site/NETGEAR+-+RangeMax+Dual-Band+Wireless-N+Router+with+4+Ethernet+Ports/1208844.p?id=1218234872989&skuId=1208844

It looks like your router does support 802.11 . Hard to say if it's 802.11e.

I would definitly check my  QoS setting and disable WMM support...

I should add to this discussion, because streaming Netflix in HD only means that you are streaming up to 3 MB a second for that kind of streaming on Netflix......so maybe you where downloading the game at around 3 MB or so a second.

Fast web browser also doesn't mean that much speed.

Good luck optimizing your connection with help from Ail. I hope it works fast afterwards.

ok.

Disabled WMM.. no change.

Enabled and setup a DMZ for WiiU... no change.

According to:
speedtest.net 26Mbps
linksys.speedtest 25Mbps
speedof.me (html5 based) 18Mbps

My WiiU gets (speedof.me) 1.5Mbps in any set up.

This just can't be on my end as again a PC on the total opposite side of house and upstairs... gets 10x the Mbps as the WiiU.

The downloads and loading times have never been that bad for me.

Am I the only one here that actually likes going through the cabinet to find a specific game?

It's like trying to dig up a lost past.
