Agent was cancelled a long time ago. The Last Guardian is going to be a PS4 game and FF VS is going to suck hard.

You are thinking of The Agency... a spy MMO... The Agent has never been officially cancelled. It would be pretty stupid of Sony if this is the case as they pumped tens of millions apparently into LA Noire which went multi plat and the Agent deal was mean to fix that. Well thats what i read...

Though apparently every time Sony are asked about it, they say speak to Rockstar... would be nice if finally some good news came out about this game.

Damn, you're right. Still, a quick search shows the latest screenshots of Agent are from may 2012 and those screenshots came from development way back in 2009. I'd say it's vapourware at this point.

I never witnessed any Agent hype

idk what OP is talking about with that

but i feel like you are trying to ask why Sony fans have hyped PS3 exclusives the most

Well when PS3 was announced, it was pretty much known as the most powerful console of its respective generation. Despite it being the most powerful, the majority of its 3rd party games looked and ran WORSE on the platform almost everytime. Everything was set to the standards of the other console. The PS3 exclusives were the only things that a PlayStation 3 fan could ever really look forward to for the most part. So this is why PS3 games seem to get hyped a bit more than other games if this is basically what you were trying to get at with this thread

Yeah, but then this is Rockstar, who don't say anything until they are ready.. just look at GTA... nothing was said about that for years.... - /me clutching at straws!!!!

You remember the hype Nintendo gets just when they say "we're working on a new Zelda"? It doesn't have anything behind the hype other than a history of Zelda games being great and one of their favorite games of all time. That's how I feel about Ico and SotC as two of the best games I've ever played and therefore no matter how much crap the development goes though and how much I worry that it may never release I will remain hyped/interested in a game from the people that gave me two of the best games I've ever played.

If you truly love the games made by a specific team you don't need anything other than "we're making _____" to be hyped about it. Just like I'll be hyped about Persona 5 well before anything concrete is released about it.

...

Wow, a thread by richardhutnik complaining about Sony and games he's supposedly not interested in? You never see that. I'm absolutely shocked.

And yeah, NO IDEA why people would be looking forward to a game from the people who made ICO and Shadow of the Colossus. What gives? Almost no one's even heard of those games, and I'm pretty sure no one enjoyed them.

Brilliant using Zelda as an example to portray your message. Post more.

Well, Agent will never come out so I agree on that. The other two received lots of rumors lately that support the fact that they still exist.

How about waiting AT LEAST until there is some semblance of gameplay shown, and it fleshed out some, before going ahead and putting it in your signature?  You know, let it develop some more before getting excited?

As far as Agent goes, I was hoping for it to come out and learn more.  There really hasn't been a decent spy game done ever, and it could of been first, breaking what had been the equivalent of the Superhero curse for games.  There was Sid Meier's Covert Action in the day, but it was ahead of its time.  That game was akin to XCom, but with spies.

Isn't Splinter Cell a spy game?

If not, a developer could easily make a good stealth game as has been done many times. Just instead of making the main character an assassin or government agent, make the peson a spy.

Splinter Cell is a stealth game.  What you have with an spy game is not only stealth, but also RPG elements where you interact with characters and so on.  Splinter Cell doesn't do this.  It is just they really haven't done that, like they hadn't been able to do a superhero game for a long time.  A big issue is scope, and trying to narrow down to what works.  Alpha Protocol, for example, ran into problems here.  And others don't even try to do this.  Agency promised this, but possibly ran into problems.
