You remember the hype Nintendo gets just when they say "we're working on a new Zelda"? It doesn't have anything behind the hype other than a history of Zelda games being great and one of their favorite games of all time. That's how I feel about Ico and SotC as two of the best games I've ever played and therefore no matter how much crap the development goes though and how much I worry that it may never release I will remain hyped/interested in a game from the people that gave me two of the best games I've ever played.
If you truly love the games made by a specific team you don't need anything other than "we're making _____" to be hyped about it. Just like I'll be hyped about Persona 5 well before anything concrete is released about it.
