PS4 to PS3 gap > PS3 to PS2 gap

Epic said to me and I agree.

The first games for PS3/360 was in the same level or below the top games for PS2/XBOX... not the first games for PS3 are better than top PS3/360 games.

Edit - lol at the comments here... the gap is bigger.

Have you ever heard of an asymptote?  Or the law of diminishing returns?  You can only get so close to reality level graphics before you are basically there.  Then only minor improvements are left, which don't really add much to the image.

By the way, Epic may be the absolutely worst developer to listen to about graphics.  They are constantly bullshitting to try and sell their engine to other developers.

People have bad memory. They think back to the best of the PS2 and compare it to the best of today when considering how big the leap was. Well let's look back at the best PS2 game's graphics.

Now look at Call of Duty 3

Basically it's in HD. Apart from more pixels and more vertices it isn't that much better. In fact GOW 2 can be argued to actually look better if COD is scaled to the same resolution.

That's a really small jump!

Now with PS4 we don't have as large of a pixel jump but we actually have a larger graphics jump.

That's actually a huge jump! It's a bigger jump than PS2 to PS3.

I agree!

The leap from Xbox to 360 wasn't so big. Halo2 and Forza are still fairly impressive games.

From Wii to Wii U, the jump is bigger then last gen. Wii games look slightly better then Gamecube Games, and Wii U games, so far, comparable to PS4 games.

Read your whole post but that completely ruins everything else you have to say. Nothing on Wii U is even comparable to Knack.

Yeah right. Knack looks like the Wonderful 101. Or Project P-100. Whatever it's called. Don't be biased.

This thread is full of facepalm.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Do you people not understand the flaw of this post?

He takes a late 6th gen game, compares it to an early 7th gen game, claims there is little difference, then compares the early 7th gen game to an early 8th gen game and claims the difference is huge!  Look at early PS2 titles (they ugly) and compare them to early PS3 games if you want a more accurate comparison.

If you compare recent eye candy like Uncharted 3 to our early pictures of PS4 games, it's not that impressive, much like GOW2 to COD3.  It takes time for developers to tap into the full potential of the consoles.

It's just mind boggling to see people compare W101 to Knack on a technical level. 0_0 W101 does not look impressive in anyway. I guess this is a game of patience. We will have to wait for both games to launch later to see, and I am sure Knack will not disappoint on a technical level.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

i agree with you but W101 does actually look impressive, its very flashy and has tons of action on screen.

Oh right cause Killzone 3 is an early 7th gen game. My bad everybody.

Yeah if we compare art styles they are kind of similar, that is true. And why would you think I'm biased? Since souping up my avatar and sig to solid PS4 stuff everyone seems to have forgotten I like Nintendo too.

Okay, now this is just HILARIOUS.

I didn't EVEN realize those pics were of two different games.   There's practically NO difference except in the little details that don't even register unless you spend time looking for them.

WOW.

That's an AMAZINGLY small leap in graphics.

HOOOO BOY.  This is funny.
