Nintendo - different business model, different online services, different customer market (mostly). Q4 2012 net loss of $460 million.
Sony - different business model, similar online services. Q3 2012 net loss of $114 million, continues to lose money in Q4 and beyond.
Steam - different market, different business model, not really related to console gaming.
Microsoft - Q4 2012 net profit of $6.38 billion.
If all companies continue at the same trend, which one(s) do you think are most likely to exist in the future? Which company would you rather invest in? Which ones are most likely to be in the game industry in the future?
Now tell me which one of the above companies are most likely to change how they make money in the near future?
"Microsoft has no reason to." - I can't stop laughing at that statement.
I prefer PlayStation over an XBox any day, but it really all comes down to preference between PS3 and 360. We have yet to even see MS's next console, so until then we can't really say much. We can only assume from rumors that have gone around. I believe MS will do better on next-gens console for sure though. They have learned from their mistakes, as well as Sony has learned from theirs.
I actually thought these threads were in good fun when I first saw the titles. I find that some take them actually seriously...a bit surprising really.
The poll should have had an later option , for those that might buy one later than they did with the 360 , if it meets their criteria.
Research shows Video games help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

This...
What you are listing as "issues" are totaly your own oppinion (and of course other people may have the same too).
And there is no point in arguiing with you (or anyone else who think the same) as nobody will change their mind over that.
The poll is pointless as Sony/Nintendo fans will simply vote No (as the majority already have a side)...
Seriously it is what?, 5 threads like that in 24 hours... The PS4 meeting woke a lot of people as I can see :)

Someone Please explain to me, after knowing all this, how could MS's efforts be more appealing than Sony or Nintendo's at this point?
Disclaimer: As you all already know, Yes I am a big Sony fan. I don't think this invalidates me from asking a reasonable question though. you should understand that this is obviously a person looking over from one side of the fence and the impression I get from what I see. The whole reason of asking this is that maybe there is a quirk or facet to them that I am not seeing and would like to understand where it derives from. |
My only question is why are all these types of articles that are against Xbox & Wii /Wii U written by Sony supporters? How about complaining about your own system instead...there is plenty to complain about.
senseless topic. You are a fan of something else and have your reasons for it. End of topic.
There are people with different views and tastes and they clearly can post something similar about Sony, Nintendo, Valve, Samsung, whatever, and those lists would be as justified as this one but no need to "discuss" about it.
