Microsoft is really losing touch with developers. Listen to what this guy is saying. He basically said he doesn't like the approach that Microsoft is taking. He also makes it very clear that Microsoft has communication issues with developers.

This isn't new news of course. We've been hearing for quite some time from several developers that they didn't like Microsoft's working conditions.

Microsoft has to win some support with their reveal (whenever it is) as to not let Sony runaway with a huge advantage. Sony is already winning the hearts of developers.

He didn't say Microsoft has poor communication with deveopers. He said HIS company didn't have good communication with Microsoft.

Do you want to know what this is?

This guy wanted his game to be multiplatform. Microsoft didn't return a phone call and Sony did. So now in his eyes Sony is amazing. That is how this always works with developers. I am sure Sony missed the boat on some things Microsoft got for Arcade as well.

So you made my point: Sony is more developer friendly than Microsoft, thanks.

Developers will sleep, around, and share your STDs, I know but Microsoft's money can't buy happiness... or cure your AIDS.

Just like some of their fans, it's apparent they are worried.

The pressure is on them now to show their cards.

If Sony just knew they only had to release the same damn thing as MS at the same price to win the generation. All things equal the majority still choose Sony, but Sony has to go again and make the most expensive console. Sony is also in a much worse financial position. This isn't nearly the level of a mistake like cell or blu-ray but then again MS isn't in a weak position this time around.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

I think it's too soon to say that Sony has a developer preference when only one indie dev seems to favor them. Also, we have no idea what developers M$ has backing them, nor do we know for sure what they're planning. The competition hasn't even started yet, so just relax.

That said, all this talk is getting me excited for the next gen console wars. I'd better get my troll face ready. It's gonna be a fun ride.

who dares to think so?

I highly doubt MS is in "panic mode" right now. At most they are probably surprised.

This whole GDDR5 ram thing is starting to remind me of TEH C3LL which as we all know revolutionized every single thing in the entire world.

Odd I recall someone saying Naughty Dog and GG were surprised and happy Sony went with 8GB GDDR5. Which, in my mind is better confirmation that it was a good thing than some people on a forum.

*EDIT*  That is if it's true.

well i'm going to get the witness. just knowing how awesome braid was makes it an instant buy and near as i can tell it plays like myst which is still one of my favorite games ever.

..oh, and they aren't but they should be.

Pretty much this (with respect to some devs). Sony seems to be reaching out to devs of all shapes and sizes.

You guys amaze me. You really do. All you need is one statement, by one indie dev and you form your opinion, totally ignoring what happened in the past 2 years.

Ask Zipper, BigBig or Sony Liverpool if Sony really reached out to all devs. All three studios were closed by Sony in the past 18 months.
Ask Thatgamecompany who were almost broke, because they signed a exclusive contract with Sony and will do games for Xbox now.
Ask SuperBot Entertainment, which are now dead, because they developed PSABR for Sony. Sony stopped the relationship with them and they are dead now. How do they feel about Sony?

On the other hand MS opened a shitload of studios, bought Twisted Pixel and BigPark Games and hired the best talent in this industry.

But yeah, there is still that one indie dev you will stick to no matter what.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

Personally the only thing MS might be panicking about (and I think thats too strong a word) is Sony confirming that used games will work on the PS4. There have been a lot of rumours regarding used games being blocked with Durango (more than the rumours of used games being blocked on PS4). If MS really wanted to go down that path, they really needed Sony to do it to, so that the consumer backlash is spread across companies.

Now MS either has to ditch the idea (if it indeed wanted to in the first place), or go it alone and face the full brunt of the consumer backlash that will occur. Personally, I don't see them doing it now, it would be a PR disaster.
