Seriously, what is the point of this? |
Sony had ads for their 2/20 PS4 reveal event that said "Oh yay, another Mario game." This thread is comparing a Nintendo console to a Sony console.

Lol, good call.
I pray Apple doesn't read posts on this site and think about getting in on the Console market...
iGame=$499, new system every year, $4.99 trash games, death of the market.
Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

By now, we have all come to realize that the Wii U is Nintendo's Dreamcast. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=155649&page=1 That got me thinking.... if Nintendo is now Sega, who is Nintendo? The obvious answer is Sony. The PS3 is a system that woefully underperformed compared to its predecessors, which were the two best selling home consoles of all time. They failed because of arrogance, because of an expensive proprietary format they chose to use, and because a new multi-national company that had very little to do with the home console market established itself as a viable competitor by having more money and attracting many of Sony's former third party exclusives (Microsoft get's to be Sony now, Durango=PS2?) The PS3 did manage to have a respectable run though, largely due to a renewed focus on quality first party titles. All of these things could also be said about the transition from SNES to N64... and how did Nintendo respond? By trying to get more hardcore (Resident Evil exclusives) and by releasing the most powerful system on the market at the time (the Gamecube.) Discuss.

Just no...What Sony has shown that it has a viable platform with plenty of exciting features and great 3rd party support. That system will sell just fine.
The Durango has not even been offically unveiled so I don't even know why its being compared to a PS2. The 360 was not even the grandslam that the PS1 was.
-- Nothing is nicer than seeing your PS3 on an HDTV through an HDMI cable for the first time.
...but the Xbox was the most powerful console on the market at the time.

I think you mean N64. The N64 underperformed in sales but was critically acclaimed and no Sony wont be in the position Nintendo puts itself in anytime soon.
the ps3 got off to a bad start. but its installed base is now close to 70 million so how did it fail lol
VITA 32 GIG CARD.250 GIG SLIM & 160 GIG PHAT PS3
So you feel just 3 months after released, Wii U is doomed to sell only 10 million units? A bit premature don't you think? Especially when it has yet to have probably 95% of its games released. There has literally been no major title released since NSMB at launch. Let's wait at least a few more months until we comdemn it to obscurity.
Way too early likewise with the PS4 to predict its success. I think the SNES to N64 comparison seems accurate for PS3 to PS4, but a LONG LONG way to go yet.
