Yeah, PS2 was a beast, it had the harcore, casuals, the kids, and the "casual core" (the type that buy about2 games a year max, usually a GTA or sports title) gamers.  It's really a wonder the PS3 wasn't able to do better; Sony really mishandled its launch.  

Like I said, Gamecube still sold almost as much as the Xbox, it's not about selling ok, it's about losing a LOT of market and mind share.

Was the Gamecube the most powerful console? I was always more impressed by the Xbox's capabilities. I guess you can have power but no hard drive, can't play movies or music cds. Power for powers sake I guess. If the PS4 is purple with a handle I will have to say yes to your question.

If it is purple with a handle I will buy it day one, no questions, instead of waiting for the slim model like I was planning on.  Xbox was more powerful then the Cube (they were close enough that some aspects may be debatable, but it was generaly a beefier system) but it also launched after the Gamecube... we still haven't seen what the new Xbox is capable of, or if a new company (the original Xbox in this scenario) will through it's hat into the ring.

So PS5 is the Wii and Vita the DS? Im Lost, whats the timeline here guys?

I hope PS4 is the new PSOne: good sales and good third party support.

Almost got it, but the DS was actually matched up with the Wii, while the GBA was matched up to the Gamecube (remember the GBA connection wires?), so look for Sony's next hand held to be huge.
