Forums - Sony - Sony: PSN games won't transfer to the PS4, nor will your game saves

that wasn't in the conference... how odd.

They said it quite clearly right at the beginning.

I really don't care about this because I bought 4 games on PSN and all PS3 games I played I beat(all 8 of them) but if Microsoft pulls the same shit, I'm calling Gabe Newell and going Steambox all the way.

I have like 60 Xbox Live Arcade titles, few games on demand and gazillion of saves I may want to utilize. Like I play games like Castlevania SOTN once every 3 months and usually beat it every year.

THIS IS BRAND NEW INFORMATION

Isn't that what Gaikai should be there for? Odd decision.

Well, it is. Instead of providing backwards compatibility on the PS4, gamers will be able to play PS3&PS2 games from the cloud service (Gaikai).

you seem worried. I am sure they do something to overcome this

I would like to congratulate Sony on its resolve to screw over its core supporters once again. We can only hope that gamers can show some resolve of their own, and not reward this kind of behavior. Legacy support is the industry standard, and routinely failing to meet that standard demonstrates the disregard with which Sony views its most loyal customers. They shouldn't have to continually throw away libraries they bought from Sony, because Sony didn't do what was in the best interest of consumers in the first place.

my ps3 only has 15g left, and i'm constantly downloading ps1 games.. i cant hold out.. urghh

Then why the f*ck would you have to rebuy your PSN games? They could just develop a migration app for your PSN games. Like Nintendo.

you have them on ps3 why the fuck should you care lol

Honestly you're being a pushover to Sony if you think this isn't a big deal. The moment I get a new Xbox and the awesome new interface, along with better features and faster/better everything, why would I want to boot up my old Xbox for an online game of Halo 4.

Microsoft better not pull the same crap. Sony appears to be just goofing off in terms of digital distribution and ecosystem but Microsoft should know how something like this can really hurt your ecosystem reputation.

Most likely all the PSN games you bought for PS3 will eventually be playable through the cloud (Gaikai) when you transfer your PSN account to the PS4.

Probably this will require a PS Plus/Gaikai subscription of some form, but you most definitely won't be forced to re-purchase all those titles individually again.
