Forums - Sony - Six Problems With Today’s Disastrous PlayStation 4 Briefing

I agree with problem 4 and 5. The rest of the article was just bs,in my opinion.

Around the Network

I generally find articles that use so much harsh vocabulary and so many aggressive words to not be worth my time to complete reading. I find that such people generally fail to understand what an event was all about and are mainly complaining that it wasn't how THEY envisioned the whole thing to play out. It's a bit silly really, but eh, gamers. A vast majority of us are twats unfortunately.

The only problem was Square Enix

This article is bullshit.

This is the worst thing I've ever seen, and I once found my dad dead. Whoever wrote this should do the world a favor and also be found dead.

Top 10 post in Internet history.

That "article" was terrible. If you want to be a MS/Nintendo fanboy and bash the Sony conference, do it for real reasons that Sony always seem to face lately - all that tech goodness will probably be expensive, and the exclusive 1st party games are weak.

What this guy wrote about was garbage, and calling the conference a disaster is just trying to get hits to his post.

#1 and #3 for me.

To not show the console at a console announcement feels incomplete no matter how you slice it. Its like they havent even finalized it yet and the fans expected it, though they wont tell you that now lol

And aside from being free, PSN is still not on par with Live, as they havent announced any significant improvements with speed, seamlessness, and friend integration.

It had a hugely updated UI, we know it's easily gonna be faster because of extra RAM and possibly the secondary chip, and there was tons of friends-related stuff shown:

  • Allow Friends to Spectate while you game, with comments
  • Allow Friends to Assist or take control of your game remotely.
  • Cross Game Chat... Cross *device* chat even
  • Share button implications (sharring video/screens)
  • "players can look over game-related information shared by friends, view friends’ gameplay with ease, or obtain information of recommended content, including games, TV shows and movies."

I feel like this was one of the major points, that they hit repeatedly. How did you miss that?

I'm struggling to see how current XBL even holds a candle to what PS4's PSN is shaping up to be. Microsoft need some major updates and new features for 720 if they want to stay ahead, especially if they're going to continue to charge for it.
