They tried that same shit with PSP vs DS. It was all about how no one wants to be seen in public with a DS so get a PSP it's way cooler. Pretty lame.

Yeah, and they tryed the same later on 3DS (childish handheld with children games or smth like this...) )))

These are great. Even the haters love them, because it gives them something to talk about, like earlier in this thread.

A: Sony isn't a stranger to bi-annual franchises themselves.

B: Plenty of under 14 year olds on PSN.

All in all, I find it a rather strange and tasteless ad direction, personally I would've played to my strengths rather than others supposed weaknesses.

Welcome 2 the world of Big Business. There are no rules.

I would love to see these ads myself. Good job to whoever made these though. Great marketing.

More like Sony is on the defensive according to your views

Enjoy the hypocrisy

I wouldn't call this good advertising. You can bash on your competition much much better and subtle. Case in point:

They're the SECOND biggest car rental business, and they use this to their ADVANTAGE by saying that because of this they try harder to please their costumers. That's not what Sony is doing here. They're talking a swing at Nintendo and MS because they lack the selling power of Mario and CoD is selling better on the Xbox. This is just showing their weaknesses

This is apparently another Sony ad, bashing the Wii Fit. And again we see things that Sony DOESN'T have instead of saying what they DO have. This particular ad actually shows 2 things: Move failed Sony and that Sony have quite the narrowmind-thinking when it comes to what constitutes a game. This clearly shows that Nintendo is more innovative than Sony.

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

They are right! Every time i'm on XboxLive a 12year old calls me a ni***r or a fa***t.

Haha, at first I thought that they were speaking about the xbox conferences XD

As a multi-format gamer, these two ads don't insult me. It concerns me more what their intention is.

Are they trying to win over users that have not used a Sony console? If they are, these adverts are so poorly conceived it's not even funny. As others have said, insulting potential buyers preferences is not advertising, it's shooting yourself in the foot. I enjoy Mario games and Xbox Live; does that make me a moron? Does that mean I need to spend hundreds of pounds on a new system? No--but communicating the benefits and features of your system would actually sell the system to me, instead of attempting to belittle products I've already used and enjoyed.

Are Sony trying to excite their fans and stoke hits? If they are, this is an excellent move. That being said, I also question if it's necessary. Surely any core PlayStation fan knows what's happening on the 20th of February? Though I suppose if this has actually gone viral, it'll reach less dedicated PlayStation users. I haven't seen this reported or mentioned anywhere outside of the core games media and forums, which had all already began discussion of the PS4 event. I haven't seen it on any of my social media feeds despite both of those being populated with gamers, so I don't think it's reached the critical mass Sony wanted. If it was their intention to excite the core base and spill over onto other PS users, though, I don't think this was a bad idea at all, perhaps just not brilliantly executed.
