Forums - Sony - Sony Takes A Swipe At Both Nintendo & Microsoft. Is It In Good Spirits?

VGChartz replied:

Shit got serious 53 31.93%

Oh no they didn't 31 18.67%

Whatever... 81 48.80%

Seriously, where are these ads? I've been all around the internet the past few days, but have not come across any of these. I suspect photoshop. Either by a Sony fan to take a crack at the competition more harshly than Sony would or by a Nintendo/MS fan to rile up their base to be angry at Sony.

* Do whatever it takes to generate a buzz.

* Get hits, get attention, create buzz.

* Marketing works.

Flat out, for me, YAWN... outside of I really want to see what Sony's answer is to 13 year old idiots on line.  Sony is going to idiot-proof their next console?

I mainly love seeing people get their panties in a bunch on these PR threads. I never got why people cared so much. 99% of this stuff is only seen by hardcore fanboys on the Internet anyway. You ask someone on the street - and they don't know anything about who says what about who.

Besides, other industries are way worse about it then the VG industry. The VG industry has fanboys that do their dirty work for free.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Conservatives:  Pushing for a small enough government to be a guest in your living room, or even better - your uterus.

The irony of that Microsoft jab is...STAGGERING. Sony's unprofessionalism never ceases to amaze me.

do we even know if these are real? sony have been very humble since the ps3 launch, why would they be getting so cocky all of a sudden? no one seems to have actually confirmed ever seeing these ads themselves.

They should focus on their own product, not their competitors. Ads like these reek of insecurity, and usually backfire.

Best console with the best games and the only real system worth a spot in the living room because of the beautiful built in bluray player. I think they are doing fine.

its good marketing. MS went at Sony hard at the beginning of this gen and this looks like Sony have the marketing spirit from the PS1,PS2 days back! now all they need to do is deliver some big games tonight and really show us the future of PS4

Next thing you know Sony will have someone dressed up as Crash Bandicoot Sack Boy with a megaphone outside Nintendo and M$'s headquarters.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.
