PlayStationLifeStyle posted their review of Metal Gear Rising : Revengeance, and they slammed the game with a 3 out 10 score. some of the early reviews were good and painted a good picture for the much delayed game. but looks like PlayStationLifeStyle seem to disagree. 

what do you think? will this be the only bad review it gets, it is this just the tip of the iceberg?

"Despite bearing the name, this is no Metal Gear game. At least not like you’re used to. This would have been good and fine for Raiden to have a game of his own outside the Metal Gear Solid universe, that’s filled with action instead of stealth. But, then why have stealth? Why have a soliton radar? You rarely use either, and it doesn’t quite fit in the fast-paced action confusion. Hideo Kojima was right in cancelling Metal Gear Solid: Rising—it just didn’t work. Even he saw that. Instead, someone at Konami had the bright idea to let Platinum Games take over the development. From the ashes, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance was born, and like any problem child that grows up into an insufferable disappointment, it’ll leave a stain on the reputation of the parents: revered developers Platinum Games and Kojima Productions."

I reviewed the and it is in no way a 3/10. That would imply that is unplayable and it certainly isn't that. It is a great game and any hack and slash or Metal Gear Fan should at least try the game.

"Another shred of hope: at the end of each chapter you are given the chance to upgrade Raiden’s cyborg body and weaponry. Unfortunately, outside of seeing the number increase when bolstering Raiden’s help, anything I unlocked and purchased was barely noticeable in combat."

So the effect of unlocking completely new moves was barely noticeable in combat? Learn to play, muthafuckaaaa.

why do you hope so?

If the demo is any indication of the the whole game, and I believe it is, than it is far better than a 3 out of 10. The gameplay is more than solid and the cutting technique is both fresh and fun.

The only complaint I have is the plot is nonsense and the writing is nothing but exposition. But that is the very definition of Metal Gear story telling. It may be nonsense but it makes about as much sense as any MGS I've played. Well except for the first MGS, that almost made sense.

I've read three reviews for MGR:R and they have all been very positive and match up with what I felt about the demo. I'll have to read this Playstation Lifestyle review just to see a differing opinion, but since I've never heard of the website before I find the situation very dubious. Is it even a legit website or is it just some dude's blog that desperately wants to be a legit website?

Well that review is a bit poor really...certainly not a 3/10 from what I've seen (and other reviews make it seem it isn't a Colonial Marines). Seems like they're just doing it for the hits.
