Forums - Nintendo - Let's predict Mario & Luigi: Dream Team sales

Do you think Dream Team can match Bowser's Inside Story sales?

Yes, in fact I think it will surpass it 13 46.43%

Yes, it will most likely match it 8 28.57%

No, but it will come close 7 25.00%

It will sell poorly becau... 0 0%

Total:28

Well here's some tables.

I'll say around 3 million. Success from BiS will get a lot of repeat customers, but being on a system with a smaller install base, and releasing in the summer near Animal Crossing and Mario Golf, will likely hurt it.

It's amazing how well BIS did after PIT, one of those rare cases where the follow-up on the same platform sells better than the first iteration.

I'll say 2.3m total this time around due to low presence of the 3DS in the west.

I think that by the time Dream Team comes out, after Animal Crossing and Luigi have both launched, that 3DS sales in the west might have picked up by then and they may well have some nice momentum going this summer heading into the holidays.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

Do you think Mario Golf would hinder Dream Team sales?  I'm not sure about that.  Didn't Mario Tennis Open pretty much flop in the west last summer?

Partners in Time got too much. It should have gotten less. However, Inside story is another story. That game is amazing!

Interesting theory, and that's in line with the DS' explosion at year 2 past launch. I'll still stick with 2.3 since it's still a high number relative to PIT.

Bowser's Inside Story was monstrously successful. As for this new game, I'd be shocked if it doesn't do 1.5 million by year's end. Or well above 2 million lifetime.

I don't see this outselling Bowser's Inside Story. The 3DS isn't quite as hot as the DS was back in 2009. I think 2.3 million sounds about right.
