Things could always change but, as far as I know now, I will probably end up with a PS4.

Simply put, it's the games. I'm a fan of Worldwide Studios first and foremost. I think they're the best collection of developers in the world and they offer a wide variety of content. Judging from this gen, Microsoft doesn't have as many exclusives that interest me, and I'm not a fan of Mario or platforming in general, so Nintendo won't be my first choice.

Who knows, though. If Microsoft unveils the better system then I will definitely consider that. I'm not a fan of putting online access and video apps behind a pay-gate, however, so if they keep the same model, I'll look elsewhere first.

At the start of the current gen, I wasn't a console gamer at all, having switched 100% to MMOs and PC gaming after the PS2. I didn't get a new console until the first PS3 Slim. I can honestly say that I was mostly opened-minded and considered all the positives and negatives of each console before making my decision. That's pretty much what I plan next gen.

I will say that the Wii U as the best chance of being my secondary console, if I buy one. I'll always have a PC, which kind of infringes on Microsoft consoles more, and I'm not going to pay a subscription for a system I don't use often. The Wii U should also have less overlap with the PS4 in terms of games and it's looking like it will have some quality RPGs.

My expected order of preference: PS4 > Wii U > 720.

Like I said, though, nothing is nailed down. I switched from Nintendo to Sony already, so anything is possible. I don't believe in brand loyalty without solid reasons.

PS4 and eventually WiiU too but primarily the PS4. I would get the new xbox if Microsoft ever got their shit but that is never going to happen. There needs to be a free version of live where you can play games online and Microsoft needs to invest heavily in more games instead of throwing away money with timed exclusive crap.

No, see no reason to do that, I have no idea what Sony and MS are going to have to offer. At this point, hearing the rumors of a Fort Knox closed system with silly restrictions from MS and a silly design philosophy from Sony and Nintendo bringing nothing worthwhile for me to the table yet I don't even know if I'll have a console at all in the 8th generation.
It appears that it might be even worse than the 7th gen has been for me.

Don't expect the primary to change. PS4 will be my first and primary purchase, but i'll pick them all up eventually.

Ps4 for me, I might get another 3ds down the line for my Once in a while need to play something Mario but Sony has kept me busy and interested for the last 3 gens and I don't see it changing with the up coming one. Can't wait!

I already bought the WiiU, and leaning towards buying ps4 first atm after TLG announcement. I'll end up with all 3 eventually unless they pull off something stupid. (Always on req / block 2nd hand games / system wide subscription based usage)

Honestly, I will buy them all, probably at launch. However, cant say which will end up being my primary until my friends start buying into them. I tend to buy more games on the system most of my friends have...

I don't expect it to do anything my PC can't already.
