Activision will continue to support WiiU. Skylanders and COD in particular. Ubisoft also isn't quitting and I doubt EA will. But the userbase does need to grow to make things worthwhile. It needs to get to about 10mil ASAP.

Oh no, in the other thread two people explained me how bussinesses are always rational and CEOs have removed their feelings surgical before even considered for the job. Except Nintendo naturally, Nintendo as business and it's CEO are acting stupid and let emotions make them bad decisions.

Yes, Ubisoft is staying the strongest supporter for WiiU beside WB of the western publishers. Activision is more of a question-mark, but while their support for Wii was not great it was not too bad either. So it might be probable, that if the sales stay bad, Activision will leave the platform. But as they not new to the business, they know that a new system need some time, and an early supporter may mold the market for later better sales. So I think they will give the WiiU a year.
I hope they do so, ill miss Tony Hawks games though.

If the rumors about Watch Dogs and Rainbow Six are true, I wouldn't say that Ubisoft have really given up so much as flip flopping for no reason. :/ |
which rumors? i've seen wish lists as greivence for rayman but i haven't seen any rumors around it.
Oh, for God's sake, the system just launched! These d00m threads are so full of silly, silly, silliness. I remember the whole PS3 gots no gamez! Its DOOOMEDZ!!!! crap when it first came out, give it time.

you are right, they didn't decide to can an already completed game? they simply decided, at the last possible minute, to sit on the completed for 9 months in order to prioritize ports to nintendo's competitors. does that sound like ubi has confidence in the wiiU to you?
with friends like these..
@Kitler The rumors that say "all home consoles" for Watch Dogs is what he's talking about.
@Turkish How exactly has Ubi called it quits?
| superchunk said: How can anyone call it quits when the hardware just launched at its barely over 3m in userbase |
The Wii U won't have a userbase over 3 million for some time to come, at least a couple more months.
I agree with Superchunk - EA had already been snubbing Nintendo with the Wii, they had some grievances with them over several different things, whereas Activision just continued to rake in dough with Guitar Hero and COD/MW game sales on all platforms, Wii included.
Was the Wii U launch less than impressive? Definitely, no disagreement there. Yet, I think we're going to see that with each of the console launches this gen, where they don't sell as well at launch as their last gen relatives did. (well the PS4 will hopefulyl be at least somehwat better than PS3 considering the tragic launch)
Really, any dev that is saying anything on these lines is just trying to get twitter hits - a game in development for x amount of time doesn't get yanked based on 2-3 months of sales data. They might not commit to new titles right away, but they'll need a year of data to analyze if the system is worth developing for.
