Dream team....4 characters? Hm...

No... it's just two characters.

Partners in time had 4 characters (Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi). Each one used one bottom. It was a mess at the beginning but once you get used to it it was awesome. That game had the best (and more complicated) actions commands in the series imo.

I think the general consensus with Partners in Time was that having to control two pairs instead of one pair made the game overly complex and tedious.  It's probably the least-liked iteration of the series.  The third one is probably up there with the first as being the best.  This new one looks similar to the third, so it should be pretty good.

My favorite is the original with second being Bowser's inside story. But Partners in Time was also freaking amazing. Never found the action commands complex or tedious (only at the beginning but I got use to it).

I really do wonder what the story will be in this one and it seems that Starlow will be making his way to the game as well.

An RPG? Seriously? Hm, maybe they picked out some bad footage for it, because it looked very little like an RPG to me. I never would have guessed.

Turn based gameplay plus towns...yeah.

Never played a Mario&Luigi before and have only stuck to Paper Mario but it looked interesting.

Towns?  No way, that confirms it, towns have never been in any other type of game, ever.

Seriously, being defensive over this is silly.  I just didn't realize from looking at it that it was an RPG.

Just because it's not a traditional RPG we shouldn't defend it? Or because it's another "Mario game"?

What are you talking about?  You shouldn't be defending it because I wasn't attacking it.  I just didn't know that it was an RPG.  Is that a crime?  The guy I quoted made a smart-ass comment, was I not supposed to say anything back?

Bloody hell, never mind.

He wasn't being defensive. So why say is silly? You say you don't know why this game is a RPG so we are showing you why it is a game in the genre, that's not being defensive.

I loved the original one.

I didn't really like the latest one with Bowser.

I will get this nonetheless.

What is this? An RPG?

Yep its a RPG series that came out on their portables while Paper Mario dominated the consoles. Hopefully it stays as a RPG and not become....something else like Super Paper Mario.

Many people expected this to come out on the Wii-U since 3DS got a Paper Mario ;o.

lol you sound wet

A lot of double posts in this thread...

Anyway, I'll kiss the sprite based artstyle, but I'm sure I'll warm to this one anyway.
