Forums - Nintendo - Mario &Luigi: Dream Team announced for 3DS! Coming this Summer!

Definitely looking forward to it. The Mario & Luigi series has always been a quality one, and I'm really excited for the newest entry.

Can't wait.

Here comes my most anticipated 3DS game as of this moment. I really hope this won't go in the same quality level as the horrible Partners in Time.

An RPG? Seriously? Hm, maybe they picked out some bad footage for it, because it looked very little like an RPG to me. I never would have guessed.

Here's the type of gameplay you should expect. It's done by action commands similar to Mario RPG (SNES) and Paper Mario.

No... it's just two characters.

The Screamapillar is easily identified by its constant screaming—it even screams in its sleep. The Screamapillar is the favorite food of everything, is sexually attracted to fire, and needs constant reassurance or it will die.

My laptop was messing up when watching the Direct. Were there any other pictures anyone can post?

Stole this from IGN :)

They showed battle scenes that were very similar to the three previous games in the series.  It is still very much an RPG based on what they showed, in the sense that the first three were RPG's.  If you've never played those games, I can understand why you might not really notice the RPG elements, but they're there.

Partners in time had 4 characters (Mario, Luigi, Baby Mario and Baby Luigi). Each one used one bottom. It was a mess at the beginning but once you get used to it it was awesome. That game had the best (and more complicated) actions commands in the series imo.

I think the general consensus with Partners in Time was that having to control two pairs instead of one pair made the game overly complex and tedious.  It's probably the least-liked iteration of the series.  The third one is probably up there with the first as being the best.  This new one looks similar to the third, so it should be pretty good.
