Its actually something not widely known about the lore.

Since humanity in this lore is facing extinction.....all women, and I mean all women that are able to give birth, are in "baby factories", where they are constantly pregnant and become pregnant again after giving birth. This is to keepm the population growing as fast as they can to prepare for the future.

Anya is barren I believe (said in the novels),

No not totally truth.  you are talking about the comics.  Enough of Jacinto were not in those factories for example.

Hey - if guys like stereotypical sexy women, then it makes sense that women would like stereotypical muscular men, right?

Looks like female gamers are just as "sexist" as we are.

Pretty much what I was coming here to say. The series really isn't a hit with women as it is just popular in general. The portrayal of female characters (which is actually kinda negative since nearly all capable females are forced to make more babies) has nothing to do with it.
