I only own third party games at the moment, but ok.

nintendo over promised and under delivered. again.

It was hype without substance, most likely. Nintendo was trying to entice third-party developers by creating a perception that third-party developers are important to Nintendo. I don't blame them for that, though it has had the effect of misleading the public somewhat, at least to this point.

However, the Wii U is a next gen device in a current gen software market. I'm not sure that we should be considering absolute judgments yet.

this is just pure win

Hype without substance, as others have said. That's not to say that in a year or two the Wii U won't be getting the big multiplats, however.

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

I approve of the GIF, but he doesn't hit the top of the flagpole. So he doesn't get a 1-UP on Nintendo. A bad miss there.

Wii U is built to be third party friendly, development-wise.

People were naive enough to think that that's what third parties care about.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Wii U has a better tie in of software per console than the Wii. That is where its better for third parties. It just needs to sell more consoles first.

Well some of the hype come from:

"At last year's E3, EA CEO John Riccitiello shared a stage with Nintendo global president Satoru Iwata and Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime to announce that the two companies would join together in an "unprecedented partnership" for the launch of Wii U. "
