Shipped?

I usually ignore Arghs threads.

Of course it's shipped.

Then Wtf is everyone celebrating about!?!?

I don't know to be honest with you.

because it is an achievement?  76m sold, 24m kinects with 46m accounts on XBL is pretty huge numbers.  Riderz im cool with you and all but dont be ridiculous. You guys know very well why people are happy about this.  Because it is an achievement.  Just like if Sony came out and said we have sold 76m PS3's, 46m PS+ accounts, 24m PS eyes blah blah.  People would be happy about that.  not hard to figure out guys

@bold - I honestly wouldn't give a shit.

Edit - It's a cool accomplishment for the company, but not something I would personally care for.

Then why are you in here commenting?

46m Xbox Live MEMBERS, not active users. There is a difference and this includes Silver accounts.

The 76m Xbox 360 numbers is sold to retailers, AKA shipped.

You may already know this, but I thougt I had to say it as the OP and title clearly don't understand.

Made me LOL so hard i just stip my coffee TROOLOLOL

Again, Microsoft only Reports ACTIVE USERS (i.e have at least signed once in the last 8 months).

IF THEY WERE GOING TO REPORT MEMBER SINCE 2005 THERE WOULD VE OVER 100 MILION SINCE HALO 3 ALONE WAS CLOSING 25M LAST YEAR ON LEADERBOARDS.

Anything else you guys are saying is wishfull thinking, if Halo 3 was closing 25 milions players that means Call o Duty is way above 30, all of them alone on Xbox Live.

Ballmer said this long time ago on a e3 interview.

LOL people really think 46m is from members hahahahaha how in hell HAHAHAHA

When Most people have made 3 free 1 month accounts just to boost Halo 3 ranks or boost Call of Duty prestiges.

This Active, not all-time... All- Time is above 100m, you can bet on that.

So, these numbers are shipped. That means 1.9M on shelves. Can that be right?

i honestly dont know exactly how people prefer to buy phones in the US and whats the most popular method since i dont live there, so i judge by comparing the phones price unlocked. but also when paying for a phone through monthly payments you buy the plan too. now with xbox you will be getting xbox live, it will come down to people seeing if xbox live is worth 100$ a year for about 5 years (just an estimate) its certainly tricky. and another thing in the usa if plans are the way people have bought phones then they are used to that, thats just how they get phones, they pick the phone. pay a small price upfront then pay for the carrier for the monthly service, but with consoles it has never been that way. you buy the console and thats it, the only thing remaining to pay for the games. i think people will have a harder time transitioning to that subscribtion model where they ultimatly pay more.

btw i would like to mention since u mentioned u pay 75$ bucks on your cellphone service that i pay just 6 bucks a month for practically unlimited calls and i get 3G with that too. it doesnt include the phone though i bought it by my self. but still 6 bucks a MONTH !

Oh so you guys dont have subcription plans like we do in the U.S.?  Yeah we dont really buy unlocked phones here very often.  We paqy through our plans. It'll pay for the hardware, data, minutes, etc.

And wtf, only  $6?  It use to be cheaper hre until it became a requirement to have data on your plan from AT&T.  I dont know about verizon, they may do it a little different.

well there are, but they are no where near the standard.  see because a lot of people here dont have the money to pay cellphone plans for thereselfs, wifes and kids cellphone data and covarage is really cheap here, its actually the only thing that extremely cheap here lol.  the usual is, you buy a phone unlocked then you use what ever carrier you want, its actually better this way because u can get what ever phone you want, not what the carrier provides you.

the most commen system resembles PSN cards/psn you buy a card whether its 1, 3, 5,9, 12 ect ect and put it in your account. then those credit you use to make phone calls, each minute costing a certain amount depending on your offer and carrier, like for example 3 cents or whatever. my offer is somewhat a hybrid, it was made to make pretty much every college student subscribe to it, it was offered to people between 18 to 23, i buy 6 bucks of credit they take it from me then give me shit loads of minutes (i never even finished them lol) and 3G with a 1GB download limit (good enough for me) so yeah, my offer is pretty much the cheapest here. and its awesome lol

ACTIVE USERS NOT MEMBERS WHO SIGNED

this one is interesting about the amount of gold users:

@stephentotilo ha very tempting, but has historically been more than half, but we typically only give out the total active member #.

yeah we have something similar to that.  We call them go-phones here.  You buy cards for minutes etc like you said.  I dont know how much they cost to be honest though.

Kinect outshipped gamecube....cool.

PS posters shitting on this thread, with a facade that they are trying to shed light on the context.....gimme a break.

46 million Live active users. Pretty amazing. Its almost impossible to say how many are gold since the number changes every month.
