Sony will never abondon hardcore gamers because casual gamers don't like Sony.

Casual Gamers outnumber Hardcore gamers.

Like i say casual gamers don't like Sony console the proof is:Singstar, buzz etc witch are casual games sold very poorly compared to other casual game in Wii or Ds,the move also sold poorly.

Loco Roco,Patapon in PSP also sold not well for casual games.

Casual gamers+Hardcore gamers > Casual gamers only .

PS2 sold 150 millions so they are at least 100 millions hardcore gamers why abondon them!!!!

Casual gamers do outnumber hardcore gamers but im saying that is important to have a balance of both.

Cause that touchscreen is really helping push Wii U sales, right?

I agree with the Kinect point, but its not for the core gamer, it's for the casual gamer. We'll have to wait and see if it actually appeals to them, though.

As for graphics, you guys keep hoping its not going to be much of a leap. Just wait and see. Especially since most games were sub-HD this gen, while most games next gen (at least from the PS4) are going to 1080P, while boasting higher poly counts and higher res textures.

Dude the Kinect has already appealed to casual gamers did you even see ow much it sold?

And where was that appeal last holiday season?  Kinect's appeal, for the most part, is gone.  It's usually the same way with casual gaming, it keeps their interest for 2(Kinect)-4(Wii) years, then they start moving on to something else.  Casual gamers aren't the most reliable for SW sales, either.  So, if they are really going to call it Kinect 2, it needs to be quite an improvement over the last Kinect.  Otherwise, casual gamers are just going to say "been there, done that."

They are already improving it and it will be more than just a motion gaming device plus did you not see the Illumiroom video?

This is what Sony does.

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Touchscreen takes your attention away from the TV....not good.
Touchpad doesn't. Think of it as another set of buttons. Swipe up to jump or something. The possibilities are endless.

iOS/Android ports. Now you can play games like Temple Run on the big screen! Ouya is already taking advantage of this, Somy knows there's a lot of potential there as well.

This. I Always thought a touchscreen that requires you to look away from the tv was a useless feature. IT actually takes you out of the experience and ruins the immersion imo.

It will be a nice graphical update, but no generational leap like, for example, N64 to Dreamcast or PS2 to Xbox 360. Sure, BF3 and Crysis 3 looks nice, but it's no generational leap. Even those tech demos from Epic and Square, while looking nice, can't impress me enough to justify the cost of those specs, and that's assuming games next-gen will look just like those demos, which they won't because that would require two GTX 680 and a i7 in those consoles.

We'll have to wait and see how good those improvements are.  I also have my doubts about how well Illumiroom will appeal to casuals.  Especially, if it is expensive tech and/or doesn't really add much to the gameplay.

Now listen here!!! I ain't readin' dat.

i doubt that it will be that expensive plus kinect will be supported by developers and will have kinect ready apps something that is really important and let me give you some proof that microsoft is already improving the technology  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i3Up4k1K4QE&list=UUCb9_Kn8F_Opb3UCGm-lILQ&index=16 kinect will be used for more than just gaming.

Is that what you tell yourself to justify your Wii U purchase?

No, the jump wont' be as big as the one from PS2 to PS3, but it will be big and it will be noticeable. Imagine what developers like Naughty Dog will do with PS4 5-6 years from release?

I don't have a Wii U, PC, 360 and Wii here. By the way, being able to experience what PC graphics look like compared to 360 graphics, it's a nice jump, it's noticeable, but it's absolutely not what i'd consider a generational leap.  These consoles are quite underpowered compared to current PC hardware, i doubt the graphics will look anything special in 5-6 years.
