Forums - General - If God doesnt exist then who wrote the bible ?

IIIIITHE1IIIII said:

Completely agree. I mean,

- Why would people make up stories that demand you to worship a god which has absolutely no evidence of existing?

- Why would people make up stories that forbids us to eat tasty and unharmful meat?

- Why would people make up stories that tells us to cut away parts of our genitals despite having no knowledge of the medical benefits and full knowledge of the physical pain it caused?

- Why would people make up sexist stories about how Eve (femininity) was the one to initially betray God and then drag Adam (masculinity) with her?

- Why would people make up homophobic stories about how acting on homosexual feelings is a sin?

- Why would people make up stories which dictates how we should live our lives?

Obviously, only a deity with perfect knowledge and wisdom could come up with all this.

Since we're on the topic, honestly, why in the world would anyone write a book that goes completely against the religious thread of the time? The prophets (Isaiah for example) were considered Godly men in the bible, but were denouncing the very people (the Jews) that were considered by that very book (the bible of the time) to be the people of God.

Honestly, riddle me that.

To change the religious thread of the time?

Dan Brown. It was the prequel to the DaVinci Code.

Was going to say "various Hebrew scholars" but you've convinced me: now I'm going with Dan Brown.

a bunch of different people wrote the bible. Who wrote all the other fake religious books. lol

That's not actually true. The Quran was basically just written by Muhammad.  Nobody in their right mind would suggest that God wrote the bible that's actually quite laughable. It is well known who wrote the books of the bible in fact many of the books are named after the person who wrote them in other cases information about who wrote them has been passed down over time.

Did you realise that it's possible for all religions to be made up and also for God to exist?  It is my personaly belief that yes a greater power exists and that the world makes less sense without a greater power than with. Religions have mostly been about humans reaching out to God rather than God reaching out to humans. It's possible for all religion to have a degree of validity.

Just because something is possible does not mean you should go believing in it.

The point at which you should believe something should idealy be when someone presents some evidence to support that belief.

It's also possible that the claim's of aliens, bigfoot and pixie's to be true but untill evidence is provided to that effect i will contrinue to not believe in any of them.

And while somereligion's may contain sime truth this is most liekly incedental and they most definetly contain multiple falsehood's as most of them go around contradicting each other in was that cannot both be true.

Most thiestic religions code's for people's moral and other behavior is 99% of the time simple the view's of the people who made up the book's.

At the expense of their lives, knowing that they would be martyred like the prophets before them?

If control was their quest, it was born in failure.

Then who is the greater power who made that god? What about the greater greater power who made the greater power who made god? AND THEN what can you say about the greater greater greater power who made the greater greater power who made the greater power who made god? Even still, who made the greater greater greater greater power who made the greater greater greater power who made the greater greater power who made the greater power who made god...who made the bible?

Truth be told, for us, if you sit down and think about the universe...it doesn't make any fucking sense at all. Our very existance sounds literally impossible and none of us will ever EVER know the real reason until our last day on earth. That a God made himself into existance and made it all or that the universe literally formed from nothing, neither seem to make sense to me.

...simple answer, man did not write the Bible, as it makes no sense. For no man or group thereof would consciously and outside the will of God put themselves through or could accomplish such a work as the Bible. It makes more sense to belive the bible just feel from the sky.

I love My Wii U, and the potential it brings to gaming.

really, we still consider it religion at this point in our society? they should all just be labelled as ancient mythology. I still find the whole religion thing amazing, especially how it can turn average intelligent people into mindless drones.
