Well ... is it really wrong? Just take out the inflammatory title and format, and it's not far off. Nintendo fans buy a new Nintendo console -knowing- they'll get the first party games they want, but -hoping- they'll get quality third-party games as well. This cycle has been repeated enough, I think, that a lot of Nintendo fans know going in how things will play out.

I don't know why someone would get Nintendo "home" console hoping for third party support. Wii U has the most regular controller they've ever made. The dual sticks and triggers and what not. So if they don't get any support now. They might as well give up. Their handhelds are another story though. Very good support i'd say.

Well, I guess it has been kinda true ever since the Gamecube days (I believe N64 still got pretty good 3rd party support). Though, I think the more casual market doesn't mind, or care. And while the more core audience may complain, they most likely bought a PS3/360 for those games. Probably will have to do the same when the PS4/NeXbox comes around.
