It's denying one group of people a right that others have based on sexual orientation. That's textbook discrimination.

I dont mind if a gay couple marries. But when their religion states NO GAY COUPLES why do they insist on being married in a church?

You cannot accept the part of the religion that suits your lifestyle. Go make your religion with your own kind of church then or convert.

Thats what I dont understand.

But LAW should not interfere here. Law should only state that depending on the religion of the couple marriage in a synagogue/church/whatever is legal/illegal. But registry office/civil marriage should ALWAYS! be allowed.

Its denying one group of people a tradition based on its definition.  Gays can have civil unions or whatever else they wanna call their partnership, but dont call it marrige in its traditional sense.

We'll just have to agree to disagree then :)

Clearly. I should know better than to get into these kind of discussions, they rarely end so nicely. XD My old man used to say that the two things you can never discuss without upsetting people are politics and religion.

“I got brought up being told things were God’s way, and when things didn’t work out, it was called God’s plan, I’ve got my issues with it.  I found it very stifling. I always had a lot of questions about the world, even in kindergarten, A big question to me was fairness. If I’d grown up in some other religion, would I get the same shot at heaven as a Christian has? When I got untethered from the comfort of religion, it wasn’t a loss of faith for me, it was a discovery of self, I had faith that I’m capable enough to handle any situation. There’s peace in understanding that I have only one life, here and now, and I’m responsible.”

- Brad Pitt

“What are you so afraid of? That’s my question. Gay people getting married? What is so scary about that? It’s complicated.  You grow up in a religion like that and you try to pray the gay away. I feel sadness for people like that. This is where people start short-circuiting—instead of being brave and questioning their beliefs, they are afraid and feel that they have to defend them.

“I don’t mind a world with religion in it. There are some beautiful tenets within all religions.  What I get hot about is when they start dictating how other people must live. People suffer because of it. They are spreading misery.

“Can you believe that we’re still fighting for equality in America? To be against marriage for everyone is utter discrimination.  I feel strongly about that because if equality of marriage doesn’t happen now, the next generation will have to deal with it.

“It is an amazing thing that New York has finally gotten same-sex marriage. But the real problem is that the federal government hides behind states on this issue. It is blatant, ugly bigotry, and the federal government shouldn’t be doing that. You’re denying some Americans the right that all Americans have, to live their lives as they choose.

-"Like gay marriage, you got a group of people telling another group of people how to live their lives, and you can't do that. You really have to check what country you are living in because the freedom that allows you to practice religion is the same freedom you are stepping on, and that's not right. And I want to add that if there was a nation of gay married couples who were telling you that you couldn't practice religion I'd be speaking out for you too. So let's stop the nonsense."

I will explain it to you. I am sure you won't like the answer. But it is the truth nevertheless.

1) There is a God. Science supports this: big bang, biological complexity, verified near death experiences. Only if there is a God does our existance make sense.

2) God has communicated to us. He has done this to different people with different scripture: the Holy Bible, Koran, etc. In all of these sacred texts homosexuality is forbidden.

3) Now to answer your question, which I am sure you are not going to like, but you asked the question so you shouldn't be surprised that someone is answering it. God requires worship and obedience. This may seem foreign to you, but it has been the norm for most societies, since people were created. So  why does God create homosexuals, just to forbid this practise. This is the unpleasant reality. God is strict about this obedience thing. It is the price of our existance. If a society does not obey God he will replace them with another who will. God is the creator after all, and he can do what he wants wit his  creation. It's a lot of work to create a universe, and he waited for 14 billion years for the universe to get the right conditions for us to be created. So when you think about it, it makes sense to want something in return for all that.

So to finally get to your questions. Sorry for the long diversion, but it was necessary. Homosexulaity is an important element in the process of removing a disobedient society from the world. Children are the future of society. Without children a society will perish. If you understand our society, you will know that people who endorse gay marriage also endores all the policies that mortally impair the ability of families to produce children: no fault divorce, abortion. It is not just one issue, but a cluster of issues that societies that have abandoned Biblical morality will inexorably be drawn into. In short, accepting gay marriage = rejecting God's laws which always leads to their own destruction. This is true for every Western society. That is why America is being given back to the Hispanics, and large Muslim populations now exist in America, France, England, etc.

I kinda wish it weren't so myself. Why can't the church just accept homosexual marriage? Unfortunately, like in nature the weak and unproductive are replaced with the strong. It is how nature is designed to produce a functioning system. So too with human society, we must worship and obey God to survive.

...random crap

I'll make you a deal, player 1x3.  I will stop posting in religious threads if you do, too.  I'd rather have an opinion, but I'll make the sacrifice if it means you stop peddling your nonsense crusade against atheism.

What say you?

Whats your problem with me seriously? Arent you the guy that is into gay porn and like Goatse pictures???

And I am not on a crusade against atheism, its almost non existant in my country :D But im getting pretty tired of your crusades I see almost everywhere on the internet.

My problem with you is that you're an anti-atheism zealot who spreads bullshit in the name of truth and try to liken 'faith in science' to 'faith in god', acting like having faith in somethng that has evidence backing it up is in any way the same as having faith in some mystical diety someone said exists but nobody in the history of the world has ever been able to substantiate or prove.

I have a problem with your supposed desire to discredit the idea of atheism.  Like simply not believing in something that has no supporting evidence somehow makes you as delusional as someone that does have faith.  Your mentality is, for all intents and purposes, the root of the problem with modern society.  I want you to stop peddling your nonsense becuase it is genuinely detrimental to the overall intelligence level of this thread and the forum as a whole.

You are the Bill O'Reilly of this forum.  a Joke of a pundit pushing a bullshit agenda.

At least my zealotry comes from a desire to share real knowledge and stop the flow of misinformation and lies.  HUGE difference.  And yes, that is precisely what it is, that's not me twisting the facts to sound better.
