Ouch, no used games will kill small companies won't it? Because people will buy less games knowing they have no resale value...meaning people will buy less risky games and only buy the games they know they'd love

And why exactly is that ?
What are you going to sue them for ?

It's hard to say because if you look at the market leader Gamestop their used game business is turned toward making people buy more used games.
You get huge benefits and discounts if you spend the money you just got for selling them a game on another used game they have for sale........( which is how they can make this so profitable).
In practice the number of customers that sell games and use that money to finance the purchase of a new game isn't that great. It exists for sure, but it's not as predominent as you would think....
Interesting - could have a nice punch to it with those specs.
Plus it's promising how Sony have made a complete 180 with regards to their approach to how games should be developed for their console.
MS can't kill the used game market by itself. It neeeds to conspire with sony and nintendo64 otherwise all it will do is drive sales to these competitors. And what does MS care about used game sales? MS sells consoles, and a used game market helps to sell consoles. The marginal reduction in sales of it's flagship games is nothing. It's only the publishers who actually care. I can see the big publishing houses insisting that all systems have the ability to publish games with an always online functionality, but I can't see MS imposing that functionality on publishers.
If this is implemented in PS4 (not gonna buy a Xbox) then I doubt I'll be joining the next gen. And you can say goodbye to specialist video game retailers.

First off, I wouldn't sue you probably worded it incorrectly by using the word you. Secondly, I said I would probably not buy their product, period, and go Pc . As a consumer I would do this and I would not be alone. That is the most most consumers would do.

Yet most of the people in this thread have been arguing that fundamentally Apple's business model is wrong. |
A fair point, that is half of why I don't bother with smart phone games (other half being void of compelling software for my tastes). Signal is crap, then again even in urban environments it is pretty poor. I don''t think I've ever had a lock solid internet connection, and I've lived in major metropolitan areas around the globe. So, while I won't condemn Microsoft to failure, they or anyone else would not get my money with this model.

If this is true then ms lost next-generation.but if there is a 10 dollar to unlock the game to use it on a friends console..

Say what you want , the future of console gaming isn't Gamestop making fat profits while the rest of the industry struggles to break even........
