MS can't kill the used game market by itself. It neeeds to conspire with sony and nintendo64 otherwise all it will do is drive sales to these competitors. And what does MS care about used game sales? MS sells consoles, and a used game market helps to sell consoles. The marginal reduction in sales of it's flagship games is nothing. It's only the publishers who actually care. I can see the big publishing houses insisting that all systems have the ability to publish games with an always online functionality, but I can't see MS imposing that functionality on publishers.
If this is implemented in PS4 (not gonna buy a Xbox) then I doubt I'll be joining the next gen. And you can say goodbye to specialist video game retailers.
