Forums - Microsoft - Seller of Durango devkit says Durango info is old, compares to Orbis better

Anyways, I know I'm new but can I please request Nsanity change his avatar.  We could even set up a collection plate to sweetin the deal.  If I need to see that Spunge Bob guy one more time I might start thinking he actually has nice legs I don't know what I'll do.

Oh no, that is actually one of the more acceptable avatars of Nsanity. Please don't make him switch, that could be worse. Much worse.

The only thing I can say is... if the Durango was changed than how much? And when? Because to be released in November of this year Microsoft need to start the mass production of all the components at least six months before the release ( ~June).

At this time for a release in late 2013 both Sony and Microsft already closed the final specs.

I can't see any company making a desperate change in project just to be a little more powerful.

You mean like dropping the planned 2x Cell processors in the PS3 late in the design phase and hastily buying a off the shelf GPU solution because you overestimated your chips performance and got the chip costs very wrong. Things change during the final design phases, especially when dealing with custom CPU/GPU builds. Obviously they'll not be redesigning a board but there can easily be tweaks added late into the project as they'll have set milestone dates for when parts must be finalized for manufacturing which allow some room for change until as late as possible. I'm not saying its likely to have happened but it is a possibility not to be dismissed imo.

Yeah I thought that for a while too until someone asked me for a source. Turns out it was just console war made up material.

He is extremely Microsoft biased as well.

He is well known for leaks: http://kotaku.com/5977849/the-playstation-4-has-a-new-controller-fancy-user-accounts-and-impressive-specs-so-far

He uses Kotaku articles with him as a source to back up what he's saying. Sure he might know some stuff, but he's an out of the loop xbox fanboy.

All these rumours are ridiculous...

Most of them might be false. i´ll wait and see what Console is superior.

Im not taking my chances on Sony Ps4, the company is losing money here and there, can they really afford a ultra powerfull console again ? dont think so.

MS can afford it but they dont want to lose much money to being with so they wont do a ultra powerfull Console.

they will be powerfll no doubt but how much? its anybody´s game.

February 20th cant come soon enough.

Hope it's true. More power is always nice :)

PS4 will be more or less faster. Like GC to Xbox. Multiple independent sources are saying the same thing. Deal with it.

The only new thing to came around of Durango's hardware was the fixed-function move engines on the GPU, you can see them on VGLeaks. And even if they were used exclusively for gaming instead of video compression and whatnot Durango would still fall short of Orbis in bandwidth terms.

You know that not happened lol lol lol.

No as far as I'm aware it did happen, although the RSX wasn't completely off the shelf. You might want to read up on the changes that happened to the Cell late on in development too as the original target was for a 4GHz frequency core (they hit 3.2). This had a knock on effect for other areas of the console design. Nothing is set in stone till very late on and most dev kits are low end estimations of the end product.

Rumors Rumors Rumors... and the crazy part is that we are heading towards a generation of pixel counting anyway. Both will have strengths and weaknesses certain games / developers are benefiting from or not.

True so true , they will all have good looking games even if their is a small disparity in certain areas ,  it will just be like this gen sure there are some easily seen discrepancies in graphic fidelity frame rates for certain games but for a lot of games it's like this , they show a whole lot of screens looking fairly closely matched to each other in appearance and what difference if any can sometimes simply be the TV settings , so to differentiate they have to go into a detailed analysis , that quite often ends up with strong and weak points on both sides , and i expect it to be the same going forward with new closely matched systems , after all you can only do so much with the price point and tech , to jump so far ahead to make the others look redundant is not only unfeasable and would essentially mean a state of the art  PC in console form , it would also be a white elephant.

Research shows Video games  help make you smarter, so why am I an idiot

The specs on that page are completely wrong.

SDF is a joke website, people know that right? It's like if someone takes anything that KazHiraiCEO twitter account says seriously.

I dunno. IMO its all what they believe to be true, and is thus viewed as a joke by everybody else.

I'll let you in on a little joke since it seems to have eluded you entirely, they have the Giant Enemy Crab as their logo.
