I don't feel the PS3 Slim at $249 was very profitable, if at all. I do believe the new Super Slim hardware would be, because its cheap pile of crap in comparison.

Your Xbox analogy is stupid because we know that hardware is significantly more profitable and has been much longer.

Even if the PS3 Super Slim could be profitable at $199 with a HDD, I don't think it would be worthwhile for Sony. That's a big reason I don't think it will happen.

I don't understand why you guys are giving this guy a hard time? Yes yes you have facts but this guy 'feels' it.

They have facts? You gotta feel Sony isn't spinning the truth.

Does anyone feel that?

youre just trolling. its widely accepted Sony has been making profit on the ps3 and their financials back it up.

Around the Network

PS3 hardware has been profitable since what? Spring or fall 2009? The new model is unquestionably cheaper to make due to size reduction and the removal of a fed drive. They didn't even drop the price on the new model yet. Sony is obviously making quite a bit of profit on the PS3 right now, especially since the PS3 is still selling quite well they are able to clear stock and make room for manufacturing cost saving measures compared to the first line of new models they made. If Sony decides not to drop the price for profits sake then it will be because Microsoft doesn't drop the price on the 360, but I think they will go ahead and drop the price anyway after announcing the PS4 so they can keep their numbers up. Even if they drop it before the 360 and the 360 steals some of that thunder, at least the PS3 will sells more units than the 360.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
