So you don't think that people who DMC have played the full game? Well, that just makes perfect sense doesn't it?

So if they have not played the game why should they be hating?, when lots of people are telling them the game is great you would think they would listen but nooo.

I for one am happy they get trolled within the first few minutes of the game lulz xD

I'm not talking about never having played the game, rather people who play a little bit and then don't like it.

I know I would have hated it, I watched my friend play a demo, the boss fight was pretty cool but overall I've never been a fan of 3rd person action games do despite the obvious production values this game has and the improved story and acting, it would simply be unbearable to me because of the gameplay.

I guess what I'm trying to say is; some "hate" is legitimate and well founded. Bashing a game you've never tried or seen is silly though. For the record, I've tried most of the DMC games but never enjoyed them. Dante is a cool character and the setting is sometimes really cool as well but I simply cannot get past the gameplay.

I think people are missing the point. DMC fans never cared about DmC being good as either way it was not going to change their opinion. DmC is not want the fanbase wanted. Lets pretend Resident Evil 6 was a universally great game. Do you think that would changed the core opinion about RE moving farther and farther away from its survival horror roots?...No. DmC is not a bad game but I can definitely see why the core wouldn't be interested.

Except DmC hasnt moved away from its core roots. Resident evil went from a survival Horror game to a 3rd person shooter pretty much.

DmC is still a Hack and Slash game just like the older ones. The only thing thats changed imo is it now has more better floid gameplay, Better acted story and story line and the main character has changed his hair and style a bit.

Do you think the so called fans are right to be giving this game 0 scores etc on sites like metacritic etc and trying to turn people away from such a great game just cos they dont agree with how the style of the main character has changed??. Mostly when they have not even giving the game a chance to begain with??.

Im not saying DMC moved away from its roots. That was just an example of the turmoi lin the RE fanbase. Your simplifying reasons for DmC hate. its not just about appearance. They waited 4 years(?) for next DMC game and for it to completely differrent than what was expected has understandable no matter how dumb they act on Meta.

Except im not simplifying it, they really are just hating on the game for the sake of it. Im a long time DMC fan, a REAL DMC fan. i have played and owned every DMC game as soon as or not long after they where each released and finished Every DMC game too.

I hated this game when i first seen it for the very same reasons that the other "so called" DMC fans hated it cos of the change to dante (And that was what this all started over originaly i was there and seen it happen so no point telling me its not).

And they where like "Oh the game is going to suck, its not capcom making it the game is going to suck, look how much they changed dante the game is going to suck". I was like that too at first, until i started hearing more and more about the game.

And once i started seeing gameplay videos and stuff like that i started to get interested. But other so called fans didnt want to give in. The game is still going to suck just wait till you play it etc etc is what they used to say.

Then the Demo came along and they tried to make it look like their reasons for the hate was justified all along by saying stuff like "Its not only about them changing dante or not continueing the story, look see the gameplay sucks, watch how easy it is to do S rank combos by using just one attack etc etc". Then they tried to act like they played the full game and it was the same and way more easier then the older DmC games when that just wasnt the case.

This game is better then the older Devil May Cry games and the So called fans cant be happy that they get such a great game and instead would be more happy complaining when the only thing they have to complain about is that Dante has changed and the story line has not continued.

I waited 4 years for a new DmC and all i can say is im happy its this one that was released as it is the best in the series.

Everyone of your post sound just like the one's these so called hates/fakers would say  just the polar opposite. How exactly are the people who have been up CAPCOM's ass about the new Devil May Cry not fans? I would consider them more of the fans. They are raging to keep the original series going.

I'll eventually play this, but I'll just say.....I'd much rather trust the opinions of people I know have invested 1,000s of hours in the series than a major review site.

The OP is clearly just creating a caricature of the criticisms people have about DmC.

So you think i dont own this game or have not played any of the older Devil May Cry games??.

Clearly my agenda is to show people how great this game really is and that hating on it for such dumb reasons is foolish imo without even playing the game..

Where did I say that?

I like 3 the best still by a bit. This ones up there with 1 and 4 And IMO all those are quite good. I have to Let it sit for a while to see if it falls or rises a bit. ninja gaiden black is still my favorite hack and slash despite crap art style and crap team ninja everything but gameplay and graphics

The only game I don't like in this series is 2.

Sales of the Devil May Cry was not the trigger for the Reboot. One of the reasons is CAPCOM could not find a direction for the series to go. Another is wanting to appeal to western audience. I recall them saying they wanted GoW like numbers. Thats not going to happen and this will end up as they lowest selling DMC. Dragons Dogma was another reason as lots of DMC staff work on it. Devil May Cry reboot is more about the absurd theory that only western games sell in the west and in their mission to westernize they throw out everything that was loved about the series( happens nearly every time a Japanese series is rebooted by west). They dont have to play the game to know what they like isnt there

But it's not gone at the core. i have played them all and this one stays faithful while doing new things.

Where exactly am I hating? I have already that your are correct in the sense the game is nowhere near as bad as fanbase wants it to be, but their views on why they they choose not to support this game are justifiable. It is not fans fault for DmC. It is CAPCOM's job to create a product that people want to buy and this case they kinda did the opposite and knowingly too! Now we have a DMC that does appeal to the Japanese market as not even alittle bit of the game was aimed at them and the fanbase here have rejected it. Now all that left is the opened minded DmC and players that like action games regardless. Most likely not enough to beat any of the previous DMC sales numbers or any big action game this gen. Your pretty much saying that DMC fans are wrong for not supporting a direction they don't agree with and they should support it to REAL fans. No. Now DMC fans going out of their way to make sure everybody else hates DmC is immature and just wrong.

Again, I never said the core was tossed. Its definitely DMC at the core. Just everything else isnt though.

Where did I say that?

Look at the two parts i bolded and tell me what you get from that.

I said I'd rather trust people I know than major review sites....not you.....its a comparative statement. My last statement just said you' re not really mentioning the main problems people have with the game, and when you do, its a vast oversimplification of their complaints.

zero129 said:

I aint simplifying their complaints. Its just their complaints a simple to begain with. What they are complaining about is a change in artstyle as they cant comment on the gameplay as they have not played the game. It seems anyone who has played the game loves it.

Also they hate Dante without even playing the game to see how he is in this game, he is only young in this game and he still has time to turn into the white haired Dante that them other fans loved.

But i guess unless the message spreads about how good this game really is this will be the last game in the franchis and only the so called fans have themselfs to blame for never getting their dante back again..

I thinks its clear you've not read their complaints.....as they do comment on flaws in the gameplay. The problem is....you're taking metacritic reviews as an indication of how DmC "haters" feel about the game, which is problematic. I can go make multiple metacritic accounts, and give the game zeroes across the board.....but what does that tell you about DMC fans?

The truth is, contrary to what you say, these supposed DMC "haters"....that I've actually seen write reviews, actually thinks its a decent to good action game, but it doesn't live up to past entries (DMC1, DMC3, DMC4).....which, given your comments in this thread, tells me you aren't really looking at their reviews to begin with.
