How about more games Nintendo? It only makes sense to pump out as many games as possible. Jeez Sony and Nintendo have no clue how to launch consoles or handhelds anymore huh?

This problem isn't exclusive to Sony and Nintendo. Have you forgotten how dramatic the launch of the 360 was?

I excluded MS because they haven't launched anything in 7 going on 8 years.

OT: As expected. While I think a price slash would probably do the trick, a nice little rush of games can offer an early cushion. However, like the 3DS, the WiiU will be fine.

Hardware wise.

More Games Nintendo! can't wait for the ND coming this month that will focus on 3rd party games

I'm seeing this quite a lot, when was it announced? I don't recall Iwata making such an announcement in the latest ND, but rather saying that he will be focusing on 3rd party games in the future, not next month.

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

I miss the days on VGC when people knew how to absorb a joke.

Ha man that was a good one dude, sorry I'm really tired right now writing a 5 page essay for Sociology.

Nintendo must say tnow hat there will be no price cut.

If they say:"well in june there will be a price cut"
people will stop buying Wii U right now.The sales will drop even more.People will wait until april.
Instead of selling 3 mio Wii U 's until summer for 350bucks ,they will sell only 1 million.
-the difference of 2 mio will be sold for 250 dollars.
selling 2 mio for 250 instead of 350 dollars=loss of 200 mio.

the price cut will come until summer but will be announced only few days before this happens.

The thing costs you almost as much as a Vita. Price isnt the problem, games is.

A price cut would solve nothing at this point.

At the fall, with some big games out, then it would make sense to cut the price. But now it would make no sense.

OK hahah, I was starting to get my hopes up. Guess we will have to wait, but it's indeed coming.

The Wii U's Game Draught is as dry as the Sahara Desert at the moment.

What does that tell us? Precisely! A price cut.

A price cut cannot and will not happen. It would simply kill off sales of the Wii U until that happens and what's even worse, will damage reputation of Nintendo's business model and ability to correctly predict and analyze the videogame industry.

Early adopters will be enraged and possibly abandoning the Nintendo ship next gen if not this one. And early adopters are the most critical adopters.

Iwata made this clear in today's business plan presentation. Q&A session is yet to come and I'm sure investors will repeatidly ask this question over and over again, and Iwata will keep on giving the same answers.
