Next Superbowl, no one would know what the heck the system is if they debuted it at the superbowl, plus MS and Sony want to suck out as many sales as possible this year for the PS3/360.

That would be a good idea. It couldn't be too long though as its very expensive to advertise during SB, however a short teaser type of reveal with a date/time of a full reveal (prior to E3) would be phenomenal.

I don't think so. No one is revealing their console in February.

I think Microsoft might. If that countdown to E3 they have is their full unveiling than they could create a whole hype countdown marketing campaign starting with some advanced graphical footage of maybe a shooter launch game with a narration of a battle speech talking about what's upcoming for the soldiers. Then a suspenseful cut to a graphic "What's coming N3XT?" Slowly separate the N3XT into "N.......3X.......T" then have the screen flash a few times with "N.......3Xbox....T" then blank screen, then the countdown, then a website underneath. Finish with the Microsoft logo.

that's all I'm thinking.  Something like Playstation forever then a clever way to turn that into PS4 and have a date fade in for their reveal
