Symmetrical or offset?

Simple question.  Do you prefer the analog sticks on your controllers to be symmetrical or offset?

Personally I prefer symmetrical because my hands are the same and I don't use Dpad as much as the left analog stick.  My thumbs go naturally to the middle and so it only makes sense for the analog sticks to be there.  Also when the analog sticks are offset it makes me keep switching my grip to get to the left one.

If you believe analog sticks should be offset then why not just offset triggers while you're at it!  May as well have start and select where x and o are too!  Chaos I tell you.

Symmetrical.

I wonder if this will be an accurate poll for basing the 360 representation vs. PS3 representation on VGChartz.

Depends. For some reason I prefer the 360's controller for 3rd person shooters and the PS3's controller for most anything else, especially racing games. More a habit that anything else I suppose.
In all honesty though, what I really prefer is mouse and keyboard...

offset.. i like that it's a more natural resting position for my thumb cause I use the left analog and the facebuttons on the right the most with almost every game..

Symmetrical, with the sticks at the top like the Wii U Pro controller.

Doesn't matter. I was perfectly fine with the Dual Shock and I adapted instantly to the Xbox 360 controller and now, I'm quite comfortable with the Wii U controller (and the Circle Pad Pro). I have absolutely no preference. The only issue I have is when a game asks me to quickly press a button and I press the wrong one because my mind is hard-wired to the 360's A,B,X,Y instead of the Nintendo's B,A,Y,X.

for me symetrical.

As my body and my hands are symetrical.(hope my english will be good enough to explain)

My problem with asymetrical is the diagonal position of the left stick.
With an n64 controller your thumb goes straight up-you can move up/down/left/right without problems.
the same with the playstation controller-the thumb goes pretty straight to the right.

with the xbox controller the left stick goes diagonal, therefore my thumb goes diagonal and I have to compensate the radius of my thumb joint more than with the other controllers-especially when i move from left right my thumb often moves diagonal to the left upper side instead straight left.

DS2 was the best ever, the 360 is too far apart ever if they were symetrical i wouldnt like it (like wii u pro)

on the 360 controller, i love that the left one is on top because that's much more natural so i prefer offset on this controller. if i have nothing in my hands my left thumb has almost the same position so yeah, very natural to me.

but it could be also symmetrical as long as the right stick would be on top because on the right side, i already have to move my thumb all the time to change between buttons and sticks so i think that wouldn't make any difference.

wii u pro controller could be also great for me as symmetrical controller because of the left thumb on top (as long as i don't need the d-pad that is much better in my opinion)

so yeah, i don't really like how they managed it on playstation controller but not because of symmetrical or offset, because of the position of the left stick.

but the bigger problem for me are other things with this controller, position of the sticks is only a small part and the ps3 controller is the reason why i play all multi-plat games on xbox.
