nothing, the controller is good as it is for me.

Vita D-Pad
Better triggers
Smooth the edge where the two halves of the plastic shell meet
DON'T ADD A SCREEN. Use a Vita or another separate optional controller to go for that.

You guys must have some freakishly weird hands... -___-
The only problem with the controller are the triggers, and cheap directional pad. It wouldn't be a dualshock anymore with some of the changes you're suggesting.
Everything you said, except for the sticks being concave, sticks feel good as they are and the predecessor of the Dual Shock had concave sticks.
-better triggers
-Vita dpad
-Overall bigger controller
-Vita trackpad

| kain_kusanagi said: 1 -Change the shape to be rounder so it doesn't jab your palms 2 -Increase it's size and give it extra weight 3 -Dump the round joysticks and make them concave 4 -Give it real triggers 5 -Instead of four buttons give it a real D-Pad like the Genesis (Best D-Pad ever) 6 -Removable battery with option to use standard AAs 7 -Move the LED lights to the front so you can see the connection easier 8 -Move the lift or both joysticks to the top of the controller so you don't have to stretch your thumbs to the center of the controller 9 -Color the buttons instead of just the symbols 10 -Dump the symbols for letters or numbers, something that makes sense in a sequence 11 -Add a small speaker for optional secondary sound effects 12 -Integrate Move support 13 - Add switch to turn off rubble feature to extend battery life -Include 10 foot long USB recharge cable with PC support |
I had the urge to comment on that...
@bold it was possible with a simple driver prior to windows 7 (well the USB cable wasn't included) (now you need additional software, ds3 tool for example, but it can cause bluescreens, because it is faking a driver signature to run as a valid driver)
so now to the different points...
@1, 3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 completely disagree (also, I do not really understand 1...)
@2 no, the DS3 is already to heavy, the weight of the Sixaxis is better... (increasing the size is preference)
@5 preference, while I do like the current solution, I did not have a genesis (or played one) to have a comparative. But if the genesis had one of these weird non seperated D-Pads I do not like it...
@6 No, the AA support is not good, it would encourage them to not hand out a controller with an Akku, but only AAs... making the internal battery replaceable is a neat idea though, in case it breaks, the controller isn't garbage... (also one could argue with conservation of resources)
@9,10 while I can see the purpose of colouring the buttons, I do not agree with it, I don't want a colourful joyride as controller, I love the basic blackness of the controller. Dumping XO▢△ is also not a good idea, i would agree on a recolouring of O or ▢ though.
@12 You mean like the connectable move controllers that were displayed on some fan art? It would look shit, and prolly be bad to use, so maybe not a good decision.
@13 why waste money on a hardware feature when you can turn it off via the software...
I felt I needed to make this post because I mostly disagree.

- Separate it into two wireless halves.
- Gives both motion-sensing and IR pointer capabilities.
Triggers
2 different sizes so Japanese and Americans can both be happy (yeah I'm stereotyping but its true)
Vita dpad
That is all
AND FOR THE LOVE OF GOD KEEP THOSE ANALOG STICKS WHERE THEY ARE!
I hate the placement on the 360 it makes no sense and makes the controller very awkward to hold and keep my thumbs on the sticks. My hands symmetrical so the sticks should be as well

I don't remember any PlayStation analog sticks being concave.
Do you even know what concave mean ?
I like the Logitech precision controllers. So I would have that controller with the PS D pad and slighty more responsive triggers then the Logitech. A track pad for web browsing sound interesting mabye on the back.
Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move, and Kinect.
