Forums - Sony - Sony needs to put some sort of limit on team ICO

What should Sony do with Team ICO?

Let them be 32 21.77%

Set a concrete date for them to be done 42 28.57%

Make them show progress o... 71 48.30%

Total:145

It is just nonsense isn't it? Sony has been cutting various Western studios (Zipper, Studio Liverpool and probably more) but Team Ico haven't released a game in nearly 8 years and the game won't even sell once it is done. GT can take its time as it will sell so much, but this game won't make any money

According to wikipedia, they are part of the main Japan studio who are again, slightly useless, but did release Gravity Rush I guess.

Anyway, get a grip of them Sony

They ported the ICO/SOTC collection didn't they?

...but I agree, give them a deadline and make sure they meet it, they've had long enough.

Which was exactly almost 6 years after SoTC came out. A bit long indeed.

People gave Bungie so much hate on MS platforms when they took their sweet time, and it was a good 3 years before each Halo came out.  In October it would be 8 years since SoTC came out.

It's just that simple.

I think i read somewhere that they were actually almost finished the game, but something happened and they had to re-code the entire game or something

??

it's not about team ico,it's about the guy behind the game(ueda?)

he is an artist and lots of them don't care about money(as long as it not their money) or time limits when they reach a certain status of fame(god mode)-than they try to reach perfection and will lose controle while trying and the result:they are not able to release a pretty small linear 10hour game in 8 years while in the same time rockstar deveoped and released 2 huge open world GTA's(4 and 5).
As ueda is no longer boss of team ico the limit is already put.

I think there are no informations about this game, because sony won't release it on ps3 buton ps4 as system seller(i hope so,as the last guardian trailer looked really good and will look amazing on next gen)

I could be wrong but i think Rockstar is about 5-10 times bigger than Team ICO and have at least 5 times bigger budget. Besides, they already have the formula for a GTA game figured out, while every ICO game is extremely unique and artistic in it's own way.

What do you think the team members leaving ICO and Santa Monica stepping in is for? There must be some serious push going on in that studio right now.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

Team ICO at the end of ICO was 12 people, they just got 25 more to start ON THE NEW PROJECT SC, they have always been a small centric team, to top it off since 1997 they have made only two games!

example:

only twelve would remain by the time development began onShadow of the Colossus. However, the size of the team more than tripled by the time Shadow was finished, with twenty-seven people joining the project to work on the game.

They are currently a part of SCE Japan Studio's Product Development Department #1.

So the job they do is not just development of software!

I AM BOLO

100% lover "nothing else matter's" after that...

ps:

Proud psOne/2/3/p owner.  I survived Aplcalyps3 and all I got was this lousy Signature.

to compare tiny team Ico to 200+ man teams like Naughty Dog ,Rockstar North or Polyphony is a laugh guys..

Ueda has left the studio, But is still working on the game as a freelancer. Other important members left team ico permanently.

I really hope the guys who remained are as talented as Ueda. I fear for the outcomes of this game.

Maybe it comes out for PS4 too light Skyward Sword. They need more games otherwise PS4 is going to copy PS3 and have no games.

I am patient with this one. Plus the pre-orders are increasing every week by 200 or so. Will reach 100K in couple of years.

Edit: I dislike Kotaku but they did a pretty good job with The Last Guardian timeline. http://kotaku.com/5964547/kotaku-timeline-the-last-guardian

I think there is one of two possibilities here. One, Sony decided since it was so late in the gen, they would switch developement for TLG to PS4 in time for it to be a launch window game. This could be part of the reason we haven't got any new pics or videos for the game in some time. Or two, Sony will release it in 2014/2015 to show the PS3 is still getting support, even though the PS4 will have been out for 1-2 years. And they may be ready to give new info at E3 or TGS.

Either way, I can't wait to play this game.
