Their prices suck, especially when you can walk next door to a Sainsburys or Tescos and get high-profile games significantly cheaper.

I remember way back when Resistance 2 came out I went to pick up my pre-order and they tried to hand me an unsealed copy. I calmly asked for my money back. They went back and got me a sealed copy.

Just last month I purchased Heavenly Sword. The guy working there claimed he didn't have the original case for it. I told him I didn't want the game without the original case. He said that he would look again. Lo' and behold he found the original case for it in the drawer behind him.

Use GAME rarely but its not too bad if you have a CEX nearby and can price match on trade ins. Occasionally decent deals and they now sell Steam wallet vouchers.

Lolz, was meant to be anyone not Anthony, goddamn auto correct. Well the fact is they've advertised it as new, the girl put the disk in the case and put some sort of purple sticker to seal the case, but none of the original manufacturer packaging. Fucking cases or not they should keep that shit separate, a case doesn't cost 15 pounds, there is no reason for them to advertise is as new then give out preowned copies. I agree that CEX is a much better store, granted everything in there is preowned, at least they have the balls not to charge premium and claim it as new. Fucking disgraceful, and I am ashamed that there are still plenty of shoppers out there that still shop there and let them get away with this shit.

Loathe is a strong word. I just don't shop there, their prices are high, selection is poor (in this city anyway) and the staff are overly eager to sell you certain products despite your insistence that you don't want or need them at all.

There are other alternatives close by that are a lot better for me but I see no reason to loathe the store chain itself.

Took me a couple minutes to realize that GAME is a store in the Europe and you didn't mean "games".....
Anyway, I feel you guys over in the USA. Gamestop does the same shit over here. It's a global thing. Which is why I shop Amazon for new games.

I do loathe GAME a bit for when they rip you off and their *ask if you need any help the second you set foot in the shop* policy, but...

1) There is one member of staff there who I have known for years and he really knows his stuff (encyclopaedic level gaming knowledge, past and present).

2) It makes the high street more interesting. Many smaller towns would be without any kind of videogame shop, were it not for Game.

3) Unlike Amazon, I'm pretty sure Game pay their tax properly. They also have to pay staff to run stores and rent for the shops.

4) You can just go in and buy a game on a whim any day of the week - If you're feeling extravagant - then take it home and play it immediately. Sometimes this pleasant diversion is worth a few extra quid, no delayed deliveries. I always request a sealed copy if buying new.

In balance I do hate the rip off trade in prices at Game. I also feel pretty appauled at second hand games being only £2 cheaper than new - you know they've just payed some fool £13 for it.
