I walk out of Grainger games after the kid severing on the counter try to give me a opened copy of sonic transformed on the wii u, first thing i never ever buy opened games, the last three gamecube games i did buy from Grainger games in 2005 were covered in marks, scratched and fingerprints.

If a game is opened it's now second hand (used), someone needs to start a thread naming and shaming game shops.

High Street locations and customer facing staff, plus a manager for each store costs more than sending everything out from warehouses. Plus Amazon get stuff cheaper from suppliers, because they're Amazon (the REALLY big boys).

Amazon were all over the news recently for evading tax. That is, depending on your point of view, at best pretty cheeky of them. They are also rumoured to treat staff badly.

Don't get me wrong, I think Amazon provide an excellent service. But if we all ONLY buy online, the highstreet will be gone. Even HMV is gone now, and I don't know anyone who didn't enjoy a look round HMV. You will have nowhere to go while your significant other is in clothes shops, marvelling at pieces of material.

So, yeah. Occasionally I pay a bit more than I should for a game from Game. As long as it's sealed I don't mind that much. And I'm not rich, it's just a treat every now and again to impulse purchase a game.

Both sell retail games and stll don't charge you more than Amazon in most cases. Sorry, but IMO GAME and some other big retailers just rip off their customers.

In most cases they do though, I am talking the diffrence being minimal of around 3-5 more pounds, so round 10% more, which I don't have any problem paying, or even buying used games that are labelled as used and are at slightly discounted price. But when they try to label preowned games as new, I get proper pissy. Especially taking into account their abysmally low trade in prices where they probably have profit margins of something ridiculous like 200-300%. If they continue to do that, I don't think that they do deserve a place on the highstreet, funnily enough gamestation never did that to me, but it appears that game are of a different mind when it comes to policies. And since all GS have been relabelled to Game, they all try to remain consistently shit.

I'd assumed Mediamarkt and Saturn were online retailers, I've never seen or heard of either but if there was one near me they'd get me as a customer.

I accept Game is terrible on trade-ins compared to Gamestation but if you live in a small town it's better to have Game around than not around.

Also, if they are selling used stock as new it is a Trade Description Act issue and you should call them on it and/or report them to Trading Standards.

I remember that I read this article about GAME offering 50 cents to a guy who wanted to sell his Kinect Adventures copy.

LOL In fairness, Kinect Adventures is shit. He should have had to pay them to take it off his hands. :)

I went to purchase far cry 3, a new copy which would set me back 40 pounds, however, what I got was an unsealed copy with nothing but a stupid game sticker to verify its authenticity as a new item. What I think they do is purchase the games preowned for probably about 30% of the price then sell it as new. Such dirty tactics have just outright pissed me off. I mean that place was a game station before, but now they have all been rebranded to game and do dirty little tactics like that, on top of that their trade in prices are beyond abysmal, the CEX next door offer something like 30% extra money on the trade ins they do.. I mean what the hell how can a major retailer like that do shit like that and people still continue to return there?

i dispise Games sticker policy, u spend half an hour getting the damn things off, and yes new games should be sealed.

another thing that pisses me off, recently i got hold of oblivion goty for £7.99 the twit at till gave me the platinum collection disk, i told him i dont want it but he insisted its the same (which it is) but the point is i never get hold of any platinum edition games due to boxart and disks looking shit and always fetching less on ebay, he gave me correct one in the end but he should have gicen me correct disk to begin with.

i preffered gamestation, but i use Game if theres a Cex nearby so i can do trade matches

I had no sadness when Game stores went under in Australia , but I was really upset when it involved the online site , it was my number one place for pre-orders , mainly because they had a shipping policy of posting at least two days before the official date to make sure you received it on that date and with their $5 courier overnight delivery offer I always got them a day early and some times depending on the circumstances even earlier than that , Since they shutdown all the other sites in Australia I've used since don't post till the the official date .and quite often not till late on the day , so if any one knows a good online Australian game service with good delivery service let me know ..

And they sell the KA for 99p anyway, so only 200% profit margin hur hur.
