It's really hard to tell. It certainly gets more attention then Xenoblade first did, and it will appeal to the MS/Sony RPG fans too, because its visuals are up to date this time. Also from what I read, JRPG's seem to have disappointed a bit recently, so if it turns out really good, it might be a highlight of the genre.

On the other hand it heavily depends on the popularity and install base of Wii U. And on the release date, because no one knows what it will have to compete against in 18 months or so.

wiiu should sell more console before the release though...

hopefully we won't have to fight nintendo to get this one ported stateside like we did with xenoblade... and hopefully it won't be a gamestop exclusive as well...

I agree it will outsell Xenoblade, but only if it gets a full retail release instead of a Gamestop exclusive. If it is a Gamestop exclusive it will sell worse because there are less Wii U's in people's homes.

I can say with about 99% certainly that we won't have a repeat of XC's localization problems.

The thread you link is your prediction of the ps3 outselling the wii u... but I don't see how ps3 sales have anything to do with X's sales...

I wouldn't be surprised. Xenoblade didn't sell very well, but attracted a lot of attention, especially in the States. Everyone knows what Xenoblade is and heard great things about, even if they didn't play it. And I think there are enough people who didn't play it just because of the dated graphics and the fact that it released on a dead system to make more people interested in X.

They'd better sell a lot if they want to make up those dev costs.

I disagree with your method. Xenoblade Chronicles cannot considered a "y" variable, because it is a constant.
