Forums - Nintendo - New Monolith Soft Game - Codenamed "X" - In-game footage!

They can top this by having the robot crawl into a titan size robot to go 1-1 on the big creatures.

I'll be happy when Tetsuya Takahashi makes a true remake or sequel to his masterpiece

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

It's safe to say that I'll be buying this.

Assuming that it comes to North America...

They showed it on the NA ND and the English trailer was translated and everything.

Would have to be some evil level of trolling for Nintendo to do that and then not release it in NA.

Okay then.  That's good.

Reggie isn't that evil, is he?

but they have yet to prove themselves. This game gonna be the test.

Takahashi created XenoGears for Square-Enix. He left there to form Monolith Soft which then developed the XenoSaga series, the Baten Katios series, Soma Bringer, XenoBlade Chonicles and Project X Zone.

I think they've proven thmselves.

The rEVOLution is not being televised

As awesome as this looks, topping Xenoblade is going to be one hell of a tall order, and I'm fearful of getting my hopes up at "X" can do so.

(XENOBLADE SPOILERS)

"Landmark: Saturn" and the journey through the solar system that followed was one of the biggest wow moments of the 7th gen for me.

(END SPOILERS)

"X" may have the advantage of far more advanced graphics, but whether the gameplay, music, and story can match up to Xenoblade's is the big question.

My one disappointment with this so far, is that the colour scheme is more subdued than Xenoblade. Honestly, the colour scheme is closer to Skyrim than it is to Xenoblade Chronicles.

I really hope they address that. Vibrant open-worlds don't really exist in gaming, but the sense of vivid colour and life achieved in Xenoblade Chronicles on such limited hardware was incredible. I really hope they turn back to that direction with this new title, rather than sacrificing artistic vibrancy in the hope of being more appealing to the Western gamer, which is what could be happening here. For all the talk of Monster Hunter times Xenoblade, this looks more like Xenoblade times Skyrim to me, on the visual side, that is.
