im being serious with this question so dont think im messing around or playing down this thread. but why do you mods create these threads and whats the point of these threads?

Multiple things.

It's a service for all users so they can see if a certain mod is biased towards a single or a certain group of users.
Also we've heard lots of times that "the mods" are Nintendo/Microsoft/Sony biased. Instead of believing these users you can come up with your own opinion after taking a look at these lists.
We've also had some mods in the past who were widely regarded as unqualified for the job. This would be a place to speak against current mod actions that you perceive to be extremely unfair. But remember to abide by the rules in the OP.

Furthermore you can see how active the mods are. Though to be fair some of us (especially trasharmdsister12) are more active than it looks like.

I get the feeling that many users don't even know what's exactly happening in the forums. Some didn't know that lilbroex requested a permaban and mabye some don't know that selnor followed his steps last month.
Also there seems to be confusion about the 1-day-bans, which may only last a couple of hours, making it appear as if that user hasn't been banned.

thanks, may i ask (since this is a thread about bans) if a user does get banned and he/she thinks that they shouldnt have been, what is the course of action that should be taken by the user?

@ModsOfVGC
Is there an actual quota you have to met? Or is that all just made up?

Someone? Will someone answer me?

There is no quota.

True but the mod that bans the most people in a month DOES get that 30 dollar gift card for Blockbuster Video.

(Totally made up)

I'd say bug the head mod Axum.

How can i reduce my ban when i'm already banned ? Because some unknown mod "twest something" banned me for expressing my opinion for a game in the right thread. i should at least got a warning.

Axumblade and the moderator who banned you are the only ones that can reduce bans.
If you came back from said ban already you can still PM them and they might (if they agree with you) leave a note in your mod history so that the next moderator won't give you the next higher ban the next time you cause trouble.

Though only do this if you have good arguments/proof. We know that a lot of users feel unfairly treated with some of their moderations, but many have poor reasons and since axumblade is only human, he cannot deal with all PMs if everybody would complain about their bans.

I'm still peeved I got a 1 day ban because of that dumb "9/11 was an inside job" thread last week. I've been a member here for over 5 years and was never banned before, only 1 warning... and the cited reason for the ban was "flaming" because I referred to one poster as a moron, when pretty much everyone else in the thread was hurling obscenities at each other and going far beyond simple flaming and trolling.

You know I was always wondering why no one ever used the dollar sign for $ony, but then I realized they have no money so it would be pointless.

If someone took my ban virginity without good reason I'd be upset too.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

Don't feel so bad. I once got banned for 'trolling' when I, in a discussion about Final Fantasy XIII, announced my intentions to write an article explaining why Final Fantasy XIII was an inherently flawed game despite knowing that people wouldn't take well to it.  Their argument:  I knew people wouldn't like my stance but I was going to do it anyway, this counts as trolling.  It's my JOB to write opinion pieces and articles and editorials on videogames, but I still got banned.

So yeah, don't be too offended.  Little ban-happy on gamrConnect.

Seriously, I can't even imagine the series of events that must have happened to get me banned for saying I plan on doing my job.  Someone had to read my post, be offended by it, AND a mod had to agree with them, and make some weird twisted leap of logic to assume that was trolling (or flaming, I don't even know since it doesn't fit under either category), then decide to ban me for, I think 7 days over it.  I just about deleted my account here after that.

Heh i know right.  If I'm gonna have my ban cherry popped by the ban hammer I want to go out in a blaze of trolling, flaming glory lol.
