So reading some of the comments suddenly a smaller LCD screen than the WiiU gamepad is a cool idea?

Apparently. It befuddles me.

http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/profile/92109/nintendopie/ Nintendopie  Was obviously right and I was obviously wrong. I will forever be a lesser being than them. (6/16/13)

People do realize that these things are worked on for years, right? If it does have a screen on it like the WiiU, it's not because it's a blatant ripoff of the WiiU. It's because both companies had the same idea back during development. Juts Nintendo rushed because the Wii was going down the drain.

It has a Sony stamp on it. So, it's cool.

sounds like a re-design Vita to work as a controller of Next Gen PS console, more confortably with much cheaper production cost maybe???

similar rumor with this...

A small screen that gives some extra info (but not necessary for gameplay) and extra control options is a cool idea sure, as long as it's just an addition to what's there already.

WiiU's problem is A) the focus on what's really should be a minor addition.  B) the devolution from full motion to dual analog.    It's similar to adding a tablet and 360 controller to Kinect and calling it Kinect 2 without any other improvement.  It wouldn't make sense.

Yes it is a cool idea. But you can't get it to a point it's small enough to still feel like a console gaming controller. The problem with the WiiU is the horrible feel to the controller. You're holding a damn tablet, and you can really notice it. The screen isn't the problem. Wait, actually it's because it's way to big. And it's way to big because they tried to make another fad. When I heard about a screen, thought it be no bigger than the screen on like a iphone5, or Galaxy S3 in the middle (standing upright). But it's a giant waste of space. Instead of trying to make a cool aspect from the screen to improve gaming as it needs be, they try to centerize their games around the screen. I personally don't think that is the best idea for serious HD gaming, and that is the market they made this console. And this is why I believe it can't compete against the 360 and PS3 in sales, let alone the PS4 and 720 when they are released.

But with this, I don't think these companies know the magic size to not piss us, the hardcore gamers off. So I hope this is just another innacurate rumor.

Chances are, it's going to be somekind of functionality on the back on the controller.

Controller with a touch screen and a sort of vitality sensing product connected to it. Hmmm those ideas seem similar to me?

wait I thought dreamcast was the first controller with a screen on it?

lies! The controller feels fantastic and completely natural. How much time have you spent with the controller?
