Capcom is multiplat.

3ds timed exclusive for 1 year. So really, it wont help Vita THAT much



Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I don't think this rumor is accurate. It doesn't make financial sense to release it on the Vita right now, when it only has sold around one million units, compared to the 3DS's 10 million. If they do port it to it, it will probably just be a straight 3DS port with barely any graphical improvements. I don't think this will help the Vita much though, since its not an exclusive, so most people will get the 3DS version.

I'm not sure you can talk.  There are vital differences between a market split 50/50 and a market split 90/10. Dont go blaming other people when you cant see that.

um the japanese market, where games like final fantasy and monster hunter tend to sell the best (in terms of individual regions) there is a 90 /10 split between sony and microsoft, or close to it.


FF didnt get ported to the Xbox because of the Japanese market. Are you sugesting that they should port MH for the Vita because of the Vita western market? The system is doing bad everywhere and the game isnt a soaring sucess in the west.

*Looks up the PSP sales of Monster hunter games and their western sales*.  I mean what are we talking about here?  Im sure Capcom has vision of expanding thier MH titles but it has been shown that its appeal in the west is limited.  Monster hunter is a mainly japanese phenomenon and im sure Capcom will make up any cost they (assuming any cost at all, Sony could be paying for it) put towards a vita version, assuming any of this is true.

lol I was talking about Japan only... I can't see a MH4 release on Vita outside Japan.

Honestly, I didn't even think they released COD on Wii in Japan, COD doesn't even do well on PS360 there.

CoD does really well on PS3 in Japan compared to other Western games. Most of them sold almost 500k on PS3 alone.


I was talking comparatively with Europe or the US; 500k isn't a huge number where the name "Call of Duty" is concerned.

Now that I think about it, I can't imagine World at War being very well recieved there... XD

I can't see why not. I remember seeing Virtue's Last Reward selling more on Vita than 3DS (or was another game?) on Japan, despite the huge difference between the installed base and the previous title being on DS only. Monster Hunter 4 would hit 1 million on Vita if they release day and date with the 3DS version, I have no doubt about it. Wouldn't be surprised to see it selling more and even higher then the 3DS version.

Fortunatly for Capcom thats not how business works. Capcom will develop for anyone that puts the most money on the table, not out of some loyalty sentiment for another company.

I'm doubtful ...

Nintendo went to the effort to "get" Monster Hunter 3 for the Wii and 3DS, there is little reason to favour the PS-Vita over another platform on sales so Sony would (probably) have to pay for the title, and I'm doubtful that Sony's management would start money-hatting games with their current financial position.

I doubt not even Nintendo paid that much money for MH on 3DS.

I think MH4 will be a timed exclusive, its a matter of time when a "Best" version come out on the vita.

But I think is unlikely MH4 will release simultaneously on 3ds and Vita.
