I don't think we'll see a Zelda until 2015. Nintendo shouldn't play all cards at the start of the gen.

I don't think so, personally.  I think at latest 2014.  The reason why is because it's pretty much confirmed that Nintendo has been working on a 3DS Zelda game for some time now, and they don't always take 5-6 years like they did with Skyward Sword.

I meant a Zelda for WiiU. A 3DS Zelda might come sooner than we think.

I'm pretty sure there will be a 3DS Zelda coming out this year

Mario Kart will be this year.

So will Mario 3D from EAD Tokyo (3+ years since Mario Galaxy 2, the main team hasn't just been sitting there doing nothing).

And probably Wii Sports U.

That's likely their "big three" for fall 2013.

That would do the trick for most of people. For me, Fallout 4 with the P.I.P. on the WiiU gamepad and Fatal Frame V

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Just give me an exclusive WiiU Streets of Rage 4, with WiiU versions of F Zero, Advance Wars,
Smash Bros, 3D Mario and some new IP and consider me content!

They are silent because they did the same mistake that with 3DS: Big post-launch drought. Unfortunately, this time a remake of Ocarina of TIme won't save it.

But a remake of Wind Waker...

...won't save it since it only sold ~4.5m, and can be considered a minor success and nothing that can oe will save Wii U... A MM remake won't save it either. Not enough people are interested in those titles.

then i'll have to rebuttle starfighter's theory.

the core are like little marketing machines.  the core, by definintion, are really into video games and talking about video games.  right now the core have nothing good to say.  the core is saying things like wiiU is power wise a last (aka current) gen machine.  they are saying wiiU isn't getting any games (read: GTAV, bioshock infinate, dark souls 2, ect.). that talk is was nintendo fans like to refer to as "word of mouth" and right now the conversation is bad.

holding out on all the good stuff just isn't a good idea, especially if they have a lot to show.  they need to give people something to change that conversation for the positive.  if not, six months of bad (word of mouth) press will be very very damaging.  first impressions are hard to reverse.

QFT!! I only see Wii U owners sweet talking the system, but the rest aren't to impressed, and those are the people that Nintendo need to butter up, you know, because they're the potential costumer...

i saw your post as i was writting that and i have to agree with you.  nintendo doesn't need to show everything but a 30 second teaser from a visually stunning retro project would do amazing things to change wiiU's perception.

Yeah, just give us a glimpse of what the Wii U can do, Nintendo!! We wants it!! We neeeeds it!!

Yes, they are silent because they were ill prepared and was over confident about their product. Given how poor the third party support is they should have timed their first party releases so there wouldn't be any major droughts post launch which is not the case. Looks like a rushed launch to me really, in an attempt to get the hardware into the market before the competition

I kinda have to agree with this... It doesn't look as if Nintendo did learn anything from the 3DS launch at all... The initial launch line up is actually pretty fair, but they should have released SOMETHING big-ish during Jan/Feb...

Well, ok - but most people on this site isn't too impressed with the Wii U, and that's still not good. You and I will probably get the system sooner or later, but then again, we are NIntendo fans; but what about kitler? What would make HIM buy the system? THAT'S what's important...

Kitler belongs to a vocal minority that comprises most of the internet. Ultimately, they are not the people who resulted in 140m HD twin console sales last gen, to put it simply. Neither do their views reflect that of the consumerbase that bought those 140m units.

They are vocal, okay I accept that, but in the end, they aren't what's important as you put it, not centrally no.

Also, in the 360's launch time, those online were much more pro Playstation, since the PS2 was just ending its reign of utter dominance against the other brands. That didn't stop the 360 from pushing consoles with not too many game releases. There was the elder scrolls, Hitman, Call of Duty WaW, but not much else.

@Mr Khan. Did you go to DS's thread about what Nintendo is up to? Many of those have yet to show some output. And, for instance, Mario galaxy came out in Nov 2007. That was 4 years ago.

@M.U.G.E.N. That's what I'm saying. I'm starting to think they had little at launch to be ready for the REAL launch, that is WiiU year 2 and PS720 year 1, where it really matters, where it mattered for the 360 and the PS2 respectively iirc.

Yes, he/they might be a vocal minority forever doomed to spew out their disappointment over the Wii U in the dark corners of Internet - BUT, going by the sale figures, few people are interested in the Wii U. Few people find a reason to upgrade to Wii U from their PS360, since Wii U seems to be on par with the last gens consoles, not offering something new except the gamepad (which many people find gimmicky). And why SHOULD they upgrade? The PS360 has waaay better 3rd party support, and nothing indicates that'll change any time soon - AND we all know PS720 is coming soon. What will they offer? Probably more power than Wii U...

Let's face it; Nintendo dropped the ball on this one. They offer us a console only old Nintendo fans will be willing to buy since they've been playing their Wii's for the last 5 years and haven't enjoyed HD...

If they wanted to make us excited then they should hint at these games. Keeping these ideas locked up in their brains isn't helping anyone. (Especially sales.)

I hope this E3 will be better than last year. (PLEASE!!!)

Remember how DKCR was revealed like 4 months before launch or something. Did that make us more or less excited? I don't know about you but I personally don't like waiting for games, but for some people that might just be their thing, they love the hype and buildup. idk.

Well, look at it this way then; we knew about Zelda TP in like... 2004?! Did THAT hurt sales? No. And Wii didn't need to show off DKCR 6 months ahead of release; it was doing just fine without it.

Am I wrong in saying the Metroid series is quite damaged nowadays and Zelda will have to be something really special?...the impression I get is Skyward Sword left a big 'meh' impression on gamers.

Yeah, I think you might be wrong in saying that... Remember that the Metroid Prime trilogy is critically praised, and loved to fans. Other M might not have been to everybody's liking, but I don't think it damaged the series. And Zelda SS is either seen as "meh" or "love it!!!" so I don't think that did any more damage than WW did. And considering how well TP sold after WW, WW didn't have a major negative impact on the series...
