Forums - Sony - Ni No Kuni gets a 9.4 from IGN. Surprised?

^ WKC would have been much better off had 1 and 2 been combined...there really was no reason for there to be 2 game with what they put out. I enjoyed them well enough myself though. Just needed some polish, imo.

Also, I can't wait to get this game! Was hoping Amazon would drop the price a lil but whatever. Free 2 day shipping and a familiar? I can justify 60 bucks on that. lol

Poor thing has not played White Knight Chronicles.

No, no, no, no, no! I read/heard about that game, not touching it.

I just cannot be hyped for this game because the main character is a child... if it were not for that then I probably would buy it day one.

What's wrong with the game having a main c haracter as a child?

So I guess you don't watch Harry Potter/Disney movies? How about films by Miyazaki like "Howl's Moving Castle" or "Spirited Away"?.

You're missing out alot you know?

No offense, you're 20 years old so you're probably in that "I'm trying very hard to be adult" phase. My baby brother who's 16 is going through this too. =P

You are the answer to every prayer I've offered.

You are a song, a dream, a whisper, and I don't know how I could have lived without you for as long as I have.

Didn't this game failed to meet its expectation in Japan sometime back?
I vaguely remember people trashing it when the score and sales didn't set any charts on fire.

Its not that, I have not finished harry potter movies but he is now older anyways. Like 20 in the last movie? I rarely watch Disney movies anymore. @bold, never heard of those. I usually find most children archetypes to be annoying, like more annoying then what real kids act like. I watched Gurren Lagann for example and thought the show was really good but the main character annoying until he got older. It's not that I am not going to buy this game though, will be an eventual purchase. Just do not think I will get as much enjoyment out of the game as others will.

Ah I see. Give  "Howl's Moving Castle" a try though. You won't regret it. Beautiful story and amazing music. =)

I want to play this so bad, but I probably won't be able to find the time over the coming months.

Looks cool, I see it is from Ghibli as well. Kind of reminds me of a different movie I watched "Paprika".

Here are the pages from the Gaminformer review.

Game Informer gave it a 7/10, but they disliked the difficulty level and the "absurd amount of random encounters".

There are no random encounters, lol.

If you read the review, it clarifies what it meant by "random encounters".

"...and while enemies are visible on the field, they charge instantly once spotting you. Avoiding them is next to impossible, even after upgrading Oliver's speed."

Not quite random encounters, but I must say this system is barely an improvement as it still leads to many forced skirmishes.

I myself not too happy with a handful of the design choices in Ni No Kuni. However, like the very best JRPGs, it makes up for annoyances through the quality and uniqueness of its presentation. There's nothing else quite like it, and I think that's awesome.

My post from the first page of this thread.

"The reviewer pretty much says that while the enemies are present on the screen they tend to see you instantly and move so fast that it is pretty much impossible to avoid them, even after upgrading Oliver's speed, so basically they are like random encounters."

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.
