Uncharted bigger franchise than Gears of War?

No one is arguing how well it sold before the bundle. The problem is the only reason it is so close to Gears of War 3 now is because of the bundles. For anyone to sit here and try to claim a victory is ignorant because they know why it is close and if the roles were reversed most on here no damn well we wouldn't here the end about how Gears of War 3 was bundled.



vgchartz is only an estimate also, we have official number, here in the us, gears of war 3 over 4 million in its first holiday, while uncharted was 1 million,let be realistic people, zelda sky sword was a huge bomber yet it still managed 3.6 million on the vg chartz estimate, i did'nt even see it chart, the most important thing to determine if the franshise is heallthy is to watch the first 3 month of sales.

Uncharted has become Microsoft's Fable and Forza. Anyone who denys it can simply look at all those random bumps Uncharted games gets in America. Those are all bundles

No doubt the bundles played a role, but its not solely to bundling alone. The standalone GOTY edition is definetly a desirable item.

eh the GOTY edition and the bundle was released 25th September and you can see that the demand was sinking shortly before Black Friday even though the PS3 was on the rise. Easily 400k if not 500k sales were added purely because of that one bundle.

About the "desirable item" comment. The vast majority of the 4m+ owners certainly did not buy one since they would be off cheaper by simply buying the DLCs, so who exactly desired it ? It doesn't really add many sales it just shifts sales from the cheaper version to the GOTY edition.

Uncharted would NEVER come close to Gears of War's numbers without mass bundling and you all know it, the fact that Uncharted 3 is one of the most bundled games of this generation EASILY and it still hasn't pass Gears of War 3 after over a year is pathetic. 

What's the point in even posting when you don't ever reply to people that refute/disagree with you? You just post whatever nonsense and then disregard anything anyone else has to say.

no shiz they go and buy it day one, like all the othere big time franshises, like halo, COD, GTA and gears.  until i see official numbers in npd showing me over 2 million sold, i can't consider a system seller, meaning a big franshise

this game will be ahead of gears as we all know uncharted is undertracked as it still hasnt reached here what sony said the series shipped 9 months ago which is impossible considering their bundling it and its still selling reasonably

Uncharted has a hardcore fanbase like Aldro, who have 2 copies of the game, he even wants a 3rd one for the Explorers edition.

wow that's unbelievable. I still think Gears is the more popular franchise of the two. However, Uncharted has gone through much more improvements in the series' evolution than Gears has.
