Forums - Sony - How big does the PSVita price drop need to be?

While a price cut would definitely help, Sony has to do a better job at securing third-party development on the platform. From a technical standpoint, the Vita is great, it just needs more titles to attract gamers. With that said, I think a $200 price point could help revitalize the handheld, in conjunction with more software announcements.

For me to consider buying it? needs to drop to below £80 to be honest

Well that's silly. There is no question if the Vota is worth it's current price (it obviously is worth it) but we are talking about picking up sales at a a good price. Not even the PSP is £80 yet.

$199 should do it.

Id imagine being the same price as a PS3 (and its games aren't exactly on par with it) is putting people off.

I agree, I have had people ask me if they should get a PS3 or a Vita I would 100% say a PS3. The Vita has fantastic games but it should be cheaper then a PS3

This is the problem, it's your perceived value. Nothing has a fixed value, everything costs what consumers want to pay for it, and it seems that most consumers don't see the same perceived value that you see.

It must drop to 199€ (VAT included) in EU and $199 in USA, 200 is a psychological barrier for what euro and dollar are worth.

Its already selling at a loss. Then they can't cut the price.

The system doesn't do anything unique enough to warrant a purchase. And it's market is folks that wanna look cool while they sit by them selves and play on it in public. A very small market.

I wonder what patcher has to say about THEM APPLES!!!!

I'm 22 so I wouldn't dream of playing a vita in public tbh. I brought it as It has fantastic games and amazing integration with the playstaion network. It's basically a Ps3 in my hands. I didn't buy it to be cool.. I brought it for the amazing games. So just because you don't want one doesn't mean it doesn't do anything new.

Why not? I play my 3ds in public all the time. Hmm..on 2nd thought maybe that's the problem. because I play it all the time I give it free advertisement.

People buy Iphones because other people have them and show them, same for DS, same for Wii.

Show pride in the product, carry it around, get it noticed and it will sell. Humans are walking billboards.
